So, I'm watching the local news on Saturday and there's a rescue-effort underway only a few dozen miles from here. 150-odd ice-fishermen are trapped on an ice-floe. What really had me going "wtf?" was the fact that the high temperature here on Saturday was FIFTY DEGREES. Granted, I've never been ice-fishing in my life, but it just seems like common sense that you don't take your snow-mobile out of the frozen lake when the temperature's, you know, ABOVE FREEZING!!!
The Sherrif called them a bunch of idiots after the rescue and warned them not to go out on the ice again until the temperatures go back under freezing for a couple of days. Turn on the news Sunday morning, and there the idiots are, less than 24 hours after a $60,000 Coast-Guard effort to save their worthless lives, back out on the ice. High that day was 55.
*shakes head*
Some people just can not be reasoned with...
