gave Betty and Spider their first summer dose of oral flea medication. stomach problems abounded. mopping now (round three of mopping) and am just trying to count my blessings that I didn't need to rent a carpet shampooer. yee gods, the smell. I will be sticking with topical meds in future, methinks...

pets, tmi

oh, mine didn't puke. they lulled me into a false sense of security by waiting several hours to have a gastro-intestinal reaction to it

*steals the cookies from him*

it was pretty dreadful but they're both feeling better now (as am I) so no harm done. except to my mop which I now need to replace ;p

Do they have fleas being inside cats? I used topical on her & she got sick and lost ALOT of weight after we used it. I took her to the emergency vet, I thought she was going to die. The vet said to use a flea collar, we did and the hair on her neck fell off in a week. So if she ever gets a tick or fleas we have to go back to the vet for the billionth time this year. She gained all her weight back then lost some of it again with the flea collar, it must be the pesticides. POOR KITTY!

Yeah, they still get fleas, unfortunately *pets them* I tend to keep the windows open so they're probably coming in from outside. poor Betty's all scabby so it was kind of necessary.

Oh, your poor kitty *pets her* Sounds terrible :( and like one more reason to stick with organic. Have you tried Skin So Soft? Doesn't kill eggs or anything, but man do the fleas scatter like rats from a sinking ship when you coat a cat in the stuff. Just remember to wear chainmail gloves when you apply it ;p
