You do know that JK said that Dumbledore is gay right? That was revealed after the 6th book came out. At least that's when I think it was. I could be completely wrong and it might have been after the 5th book.
actually, i think it was after book 7 but his sexuality (which was no surprise to anyone who read the books) is a totally different issue from this one
he is totally grooming Harry with all the gifts and the little secrets they share and things. it's creepy...
it may not help that I don't really like Dumbledore, but have you seen the Halfblood Prince movie yet? just Dumbledore's tone and expression and posture at times is squicky and now I'm starting to see that in the other movies, too *shrugs*
I almost missed this two-line post but as I scrolled down my friends' page, the tags 'harry potter and 'wtf' grabbed my attention and forced me back up. I'm so attuned to anything, especially something snarkish, about HP, it isn't funny.
And this was worth seeing. ITA, DD is super creepy in hindsight. 'Harrydore' is practically canon, ugh, I feel so squicked!
I have this file on the Harrydore-related snarky comments from the DH spork, and it starts with this:
Dumbledore then does something very strange and shores up the writing of a 1000 slashers. It's the middle of the night - probably nearing one a.m, a deserted village, near a wizard's house and he takes Harry… into a broom shed.
*headdesk*
Perhaps he didn't want the Evil Gnomes of D00M to hear. Or he just wanted to be in an enclosed space with a hot teenager. You decide. If Sirius had been alive (see next section) he could have warned his godson about the dangers of going into broom sheds with ANYONE (especially Pervy Old Wizards) as only shagging bad things will come
( ... )
Your schoolyard friends need to detach emotionally and actually watch and read. Dumbledore spends the first 16 years of Harry's life grooming him (to be a human sacrifice rather than a sex partner, granted, but it's STILL insanely creepy)
if you haven't already, read borg_princess's comment above. sums it up
I'm not at all saying he is a pedophile (I'm with you in classifying him as pretty much asexual), I'm saying his behavior is reminiscent of the behaviors of a pedophile in terms of the grooming, secrecy, and attempts to ingratiate himself to Harry in a way that seems nice to the kid and to outside observers but is inherently destructive underneath

'Well, where I went with Dumbledore and what we did is my business. He didn't want people to know.'
Has more Harrydore, only with even more child-molester vibe.
It's just too easy to spot the subtext! JKR has so much of it!
