A moment of silence for stories lost.
As you may or may not have heard, my computer had a major crisis a few weeks ago. No one could get him working again without a full system reinstall. This has since been completed and he seems to be healthy again, almost like new.
Alas, all of the data on him was lost. Though I was in process of backing everything up when he went down, very little had made it onto the new HD.
The biggest loss was all the writing - at least a hundred pages worth, probably much more. The original story I was nearly fifty pages into, all of the Merlin fics I'd been toying with, plus progress on the Void and all my in-process DP stuff. And that's just what I've seen on a quick glance through the few salvages. Not all was lost, especially as I have been writing a lot by hand, but it is a big blow.
Learn from my mistake. Don't be caught unaware.
