So shows. Despite my impending trip, I've gotten myself quite wrapped up in two very spectacular shows.
The first you may have heard me rant about previously. It's taken me a whole freaking year, but I'm nearly through Farscape. The final three-parter has been spectacular. There's been backstabbing like nobody's business, rescuing, returning characters, h/c, and Crichton being spectacularly insane. This insanity may or may not include a massive fission bomb strapped to his hip and wired to his heart.
Oh Crichton. I do love you. You and 1812, too.
Also I'd like to know why there's not more Scorpy/Bracca fic out there what with the explicit nod to their relationship in this episode. Not that I have any particular interest in reading it, just because this is possibly the first slash pairing (cannon or otherwise) that I've actually seen without copious amounts of fan love. Who'da thunk?
The other show I've been loving would be Life on Mars, a spectacular BBC One show staring the NewWho Master himself: John Simm. Though I'm still having a hard time with him waltzing around in a leather jacket and speaking with his natural Northern accent (these things are rather becoming a thing), I do adore the show. The premise is simple: a modern-day copper gets hit by a car and wakes up in 1973. Is he dreaming? He does periodically hear evidence that he might be in a coma. Is he hallucinating? There is an awful lot of trippy stuff slipping in, especially when he dreams. Some of it's Twin Peaks' worthy. Is this somehow real? He has met his younger self and his parents.
Regardless, he's now the only straight cop in a land of crooked ones, now serving under the spectacular Guv and trying to get himself home, without dying along the way, of course.
Hmn... a theme. Would you look at that ^_^ But then, the current hallucination has Crichton dressed up as an old-timey cop interrogating Harvey so small world.
