Last day of the year. Last night I was out dancing and drinking with mum and T, one of my oldest friends. Today there is my aunt's birthday, visiting dad, and then seeing the NY in with T, mum and mum's partner. There may be more drinking. There may be writing the hit song of 2018 (T and I have written songs before and she's bringing her guitar).
In the meanwhile, I wish you all awesome 2018. Here's my Fic & Art Round-Up for this year, in case you get bored and fancy something to read.

As usual, this is stuff that was posted in 2017 although some was written earlier and some things written in 2017 won't be posted until 2018.

My best story this year: It's a draw between...
the bones you’re made of (they sing a hard song) because
Wordlessly, Monroe walks to the edge of the garden, the steady weight of Nick’s gaze at his back. He could wait to do this until later, until after Nick has left, but he doesn’t want to. So what if Nick witnesses this, what does it matter if that makes him one of two people who ever have? Monroe has already opened every door imaginable, already gutted himself to the bone, whether Nick realises it or not. This is nothing.
or
Incremental because "Is there… Is there anything else you want?" he asks. It's not said rudely like a dismissal, and neither is it suggestive or flirtatious. Wyatt genuinely wants to know if there is anything else Lucy wants, anything that would be his to give, and that makes her breath catch, her spine straighten and the power of it pools like hot honey in her gut, sweet and precious.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Eh, idk, I didn't write any kind of underappreciated masterpiece this year. No, wait, I'm gonna say it’s in the water baby (it’s between you and me) because time was my wincest got way more attention than that, pfft.
Most fun story to write:
Magical Healing Dangly Bits because Deadpool is always really fun to write
Spoonful of Sunday because
pushkin666 and I just wallowed in the flangst of it all
Fluffiest story:
Spoonful of Sunday no doubt. Absolutely ridiculous. I regret nothing.
Operation ‘Take Care of Brendon’ was also pretty fluffy... Oh, and Reunion.
Most angsty story:
that which remains was, I think, the only truly angsty fic this year. Post vampire apocalypse...
Sexiest story:
the bones you’re made of (they sing a hard song) is the only one with an explicit sex scene, and the power dynamics there are pretty hot. However, whilst Incremental was 'fade to black' I am most pleased with the subtle femdom vibe I got there. Oh, end of Summer Peeves got a little... tense. Aaaand it’s in the water baby (it’s between you and me) had its moments.
"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Spoonful of Sunday because QI RPF? Idk, everything is pretty tame this year. Clearly need to write something more daring next year lol.
Hardest story to write:
I don't remember anything being very hard to write as such... Spoonful of Sunday needed a lot of fiddling with the scenes and continuity 'cos we wrote it in fits and starts. Incremental needed a fair bit of research for the timetravel sections.
Biggest Disappointment:
Not writing more poetry. I know that's not relevant to fanfic but it is relevant to writing and yeah, I'm really down about how little poetry I've managed this year.
Biggest Surprise:
Incremental - how much I got into writing it, how good it was to write from female pov again, how well that fic was received by the people in the fandom
Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Hahaha, Incremental
Story I haven't yet written, but intend hope to:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAA *draws breath* AHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA. Erm. I just. Shall we not? Idk, there's stuff that's ready or almost ready to post, like 4k Bandom Pete/Patrick not!fic, the fucking ridiculous spy porn Mission Impossible thing and a stupid number of
fandom_stocking ficlets I wrote over Christmas because why not. There's wips I should finish (Loki/Thor looking at you, oh and less said about the 940329 wips I have with
pushkin666 the better). I owe more Bandom Jon/Tom/Brendon to
dreamersdare . But for sure one thing that WILL get finished, even it kills me (and it might) is the Hansel/Gretel dark incest magic fic I'm writing for
smallfandombang (the good news is that I'm actually now writing it, I mean it's not anywhere near the rough draft requirements but it's gonna get there by the deadline or else).
