Whee, omg, I'm really, really excited that you liked this. Yes, it is from the prompts you left several months ago - I've been slow at filling them but I do eventually deliver...

I think maybe you wanted something a bit more porny but the fic just wasn't going in that direction at all and because this angsty mood piece anyway. I've also been talking a lot lately with various people how I'm getting increasingly tired of bdsm fic that is all about the sex. I mean hot sex is awesome, don't get me wrong, but the view where kinky sex is the end all and be all of a bdsm relationship is starting to grate more and more, and that was probably the main reason my mind rebelled at going the gratuitous porn route with this.

Heh, I don't have AIM and rarely use other chat programmes. However, would be happy to plot 'some stuff' with you :D I like very much what you said about Pete coaxing Gabe out of his cage almost like you'd coax a frightened animal...

i don't really lack it since i have another irl-kinky ljer who i roleplay with- we have some nice emotion-based kink storylines we write, so i get plenty. i would be HAPPY to tell you all about them if you're interested. :)

yeah, i imagine gabe wouldn't want to come out of his cage until pete has his collar and leash, and then pete unlocks the cage and holds it out and smiles at him and just waits until gabe smiles back and crawls out and lets pete collar him again, and then they don't go anywhere, just sit on the floor and hold each other and breathe. and then eventually pete's like, wanna talk about it? because obviously something happened to get gabe so spooked, he doesn't come over unless he has a reason, and gabe kinda shakes his head and they sit there for a while longer until gabe's smiling again, from having pete's attention and then pete tugs on his leash and they go have some breakfast and pete hand-feeds gabe strips of toast with margarine and honey.

and before pete goes to get his collar and leash, right when he first finds gabe in his cage in the morning, there's a little smiling and stroking gabe's face through the bars to wake him up and supportive murmuring, and gabe reaching up to the bars to touch pete's hand and feeling a lot better than he did last night because now he's locked up and can't hurt himself and pete's there.

maybe they have this whole gabe wants to hurt himself because he hates himself/pete's been there before and survived it so now he's mentoring him dynamic, and so whenevr gabe's angry and scared he goes over to pete's with his metaphorical tail between his legs to 1) be restrained and ordered not to do anything stupid and supervised 2) get some supportive, non-judgemental advice and 3) be reminded that he is loved and worthy and all that. they should have a really strong good behavior/reward system so when gabe does something good he's reminded that he's a good person who can succeed etc etc etc.

Oh hell, I think you will be very happy with the bandom bdsm 'verse pushkin666 and I got in the works. Emotional issues abound! Also angst! We've got it mostly plotted and have started writing bits and pieces and it will be glorious.

I really like your take on Gabe coming to Pete's so that he can't hurt himself. For me the cage thing is less about dehumanisation and more about security and being looked after, and I really could see it being something Gabe needs. There is so much energy there and not all of it good, that sometimes he needs help in containing it. And yeah, Pete's been there, knows what it's like when you get so caught up in fighting the world that you end up fighting yourself.

Also; hand-feeding? fuck yes.

please tell me more about this verse? - oh dude, exciting times. We're just setting up the comm with the basic info/introductory post/cast list. I will pimp it when it's fit for public consumption.

Basic storyline: Bob and Patrick run an exclusive BDSM club. They're also part of 'The Family' an ancient and international order of likeminded people involved in the BDSM scene. There are several pairings/groups who's journeys we'll follow through about a five year period. It won't be written in a chronological fashion, although we'll provide tagging/timeline/list to keep track that way. There will be lots of the mental side of d/s dynamic and social rules governing The Family interactions etc. Angst, romance, kinky sex and happy endings guaranteed :)

The major storylines and the key scenes have pretty much been plotted, and we've started writing some bits. It'll be a long-term project and we hope other people will get as excited about it as we are.
