Snow Angels
For aimaw

It wasn’t illegal, or at least not in the strictest sense of the law, to take the rental car on a bit of a short trip. After all it was rented under their names, or at least one or more of their names were listed as potential drivers, so it could hardly be completely illegal. Although he wasn’t certain that Heechul fishing the keys out of the mangers back pocket while having a completely normal conversation about their schedules for the next day was completely legal, but some things couldn’t be helped.

Heechul had orchestrated this little trip and he and Sungmin had tagged along. Sungmin because he was going stir crazy in the foreign country, and his going stir crazy usually meant that someone or something ended up dead. Kyuhyun still had no idea how he had managed to put his fist through the wall in their hotel room once, but he had.

Kyuhyun, against his better judgment, had agreed to go along partially because he was bored but also because he liked to think that if they got themselves into trouble someone would need to talk them out of it and it certainly wasn’t going to be Heechul with his made up version of Mandarin or Sungmin with his half hearted attempts at tones. So they had piled in the rental car and Heechul had started it and drove them away towards a destination only he knew.

He really didn’t care where they went, as long as they could get back and the car had gas in it. The sun was warm on his face through the car window, but he knew the winter air outside was chilled. In the front Heechul was arguing with the GPS which they had thankfully figured out how to switch into a Korean mode. It would have been unbearable if Kyuhyun had been forced to translate for the machine and then translate Heechul’s insults towards it, something that Heechul would insist on him doing. At least this way it was only marginally annoying.

They drove until the houses began to thin, and Kyuhyun suddenly recognized where it was they were going. Heechul had better erase all evidence of this trip from the memory banks of the GPS because if the company found out, they were dead in more ways than one.

Heechul turned into a gravel drive and then cursed at the GPS in no less than five languages as it chirped at him to “Make a legal U-Turn.” Finally he simply turned it off with a rather violent stab of his finger and continued up the drive. At the end of it was a small but pleasant looking house, with a snow covered yard surrounding it. Heechul put the car in park, killed the engine, and stared towards the front door as if it was a monster to be slain.

Kyuhyun rolled his eyes. The residents of the house had likely seen them as they had approached and not only was it very unproductive to sit in a driveway, but it was rather rude as well. He unfastened his seatbelt and was out the door before Heechul could snap at him to stay put. By the time Kyuhyun had walked around the car, the front door was already open and an older woman was standing and watching him curiously.

‘Hello,’ Kyuhyun said politely in hesitant Mandarin, bowing deeply to her in greeting. ‘I’m sorry for showing up unannounced.’

‘Kui Xian? Is that you?’ the woman asked curiously.

Kyuhyun straightened and blinked. He hadn’t expected her to remember him or sound so welcoming when she did so. ‘Yes. I’m sorry my friend drove us here.’ He tried to explain.

‘Heechul,’ she said peering at the car. ‘He wants to see my Hangeng. Yes?’

He could tell that she was choosing her words carefully and speaking precisely so that he would have no trouble understanding her. ‘Yes. He was hoping to.’

‘Tell him to wait,’ she told him.

‘We don’t have long,’ Kyuhyun tried to impress upon her the lack of time that they did have and he felt only marginally successful as she disappeared. He stood awkwardly, on the shoveled part of the area that might have been a sidewalk in the other months of the year and tried to figure out what to do. If she didn’t produce Hankyung, Heechul was going to be moody the entire way home, but if she did, what then?

“Kyuhyun?” came the hesitant pronunciation of his Korean name in a familiar voice. He looked up and there was Hankyung bundled in a coat and looking healthier then Kyuhyun had seen him in months or even the last year.

“Hi,” he managed, trying to figure out how to explain that Heechul had dragged them all out to see him.

It turned out that he didn’t have to as he heard a car door slam and a blur of color zipped past him to collide into Hankyung with considerable force. It knocked him back into a snow drift, but Kyuhyun noticed he was grinning like an idiot and hardly seemed to care. He was fairly certain that neither man noticed the front door closing, or maybe they had, because the moment it clicked shut, their lips had pressed together. Kyuhyun, as much as he cared for his band mates, felt that he didn’t need to see that.

He turned to find Sungmin had escaped the car in a much more controlled manner and was staring at the pair with a look of amusement and lack of appreciation. “Don’t watch them,” Kyuhyun muttered and Sungmin gave him a look. “It’s sort of like watching porn or something.” Heechul managed to drag his hand away from where it had been sneaking under Hankyung’s clothing long enough to give him a rude hand gesture before refocusing on his task.

“Well there isn’t a whole lot else to look at,” Sungmin pointed out, gesturing at the snow covered seemingly barren land.

“We could lie on our backs, stare at the sun until our retinas burn out, and make snow angels,” Kyuhyun suggested.

Sungmin shrugged. “Might as well.”

Kyuhyun hadn’t really expected him to agree but they flopped back onto the snow together and began sliding their arms and legs across the surface of it making the sleeves and the skirt of the things. They probably did the movement more then necessary, but they hardly had anything else to do and they were long done when Heechul loomed over them looking reasonably confused.

“What are you doing?” he asked.

Kyuhyun carefully rolled to the side, trying to rise without damaging his creation. He was marginally successful and his snow angel looked as though it had just a small extra lump where its hip should be. “We were making snow angels,” he announced, frowning as Sungmin managed to get up without damaging his.

“More like snow devils,” Hankyung said with a laugh. There was a resounding sound of something being smacked followed by a yelp from Hankyung as jumped forward, his hands clutching behind him.

“You don’t have the privilege of being mean to them anymore,” Heechul informed him.

Hankyung gave him one of his ‘I am trying oh so hard to be patient with you’ looks. “What do I have the privilege of doing then?”

“Worshiping me,” Heechul declared immediately. Kyuhyun could see Hankyung roll his eyes, but he leaned over and feathered kisses over Heechul’s face anyway. He didn’t need to watch any longer to see where this was going and he instead looked to Sungmin.

“More snow angels?” he offered. Sungmin nodded and they found fresh patches of snow and began the process of making their angels all over again. Kyuhyun thought that they might have to make an army of snow angels before Heechul was ready to leave, but perhaps by that point he would have finally figured out how to get up from them without damaging them.

AN: I finished this one last night and I was in an interesting mood... I have no idea lol. My muses have been weird lately, but I have been writing. My lovely readers just won't be able to see what it is for a while yet. ^^;
