Hunting Through the Hard Drive
It happens to be day 2 of my Christmas/Winter vacation from school and I am bored out of my mind! I already cleaned my room (which never happens) and did some chores around the house. There are 5 weeks I'm going to have to fill with stuff...
While cleaning I found some really old notebooks. Judging by the hand writing we are talking fourth gradeish, which would be approximately 11 or so years ago. They were filled with really cute cheesy poems and songs. Then I stumbled upon a hand written fanfiction. Apparently I decided to cross over Card Captor Sakura with Dragonball Z and a dash of Sailor Moon for flavor. What was I thinking? Then the snicker fest continued when I stumbled on some old doodles of mine.
Then I decided to clean and organize my hard drive. I started poking around what I have written and there is an unbelievable amount just sitting on my hard drive. I wrote some really old Yu-gi-oh fics that make me snicker. Then there is a random piece where, thanks to Yu-gi-oh, I decided I had a yami (or dark half). She still exists till this day, thank you very much, and likes to make a nuisance of herself every now and again (she is under the impression she is a helpful muse...).
I found several first chapters or pieces parts of stories. Those that I re-read I stared blankly at my screen going 'I have no clue where I was going with this.' Its a very good thing that last year I decided that outlining my stories and writing down any ideas for stories was a very good thing.
Then there is the existence of the random pieces written for a friend. She liked the rougher stuff and while I do not particularly care for rape, at all, other then as a plot device, it was fun to see if I could rise to the challenge for her. They sit here if anyone would like them.
Of course there are the role plays that the two of us did (I saved most of them). However since she split off our friendship I really do not feel as though I can do anything with them. I still have access to our joint account on fanfiction.net and could put them there. I will have to decided. We always seemed to bring out the best writing skills in each other or something. For some reason the story that I have on my fanfiction.net account that we co-wrote has way more hits then any other thing I have written.
In fiction news, I found the two attempts at the second chapter of All Wrong. I still don't like them but I think I may have to resign myself to the fact that the whole thing was designed to be a bit cliche and I'll have to get over it. And I have notes on that one!
I am also thinking on starting the second chapter to my Elemental Winds saga (although as of now the only person that I have heard any comments from is my role play partner). I put my major fics on fiction press but I wonder if there is somewhere else I could put them to get more constructive criticism. My creative writing teacher seemed to like my writing. Although I couldn't show him any of my yaoi stuff... Ah well. I write, in part, just for me and if only one person is reading and enjoy, then it is enough for me.
