Twenty Four
Of Truth

He took deep calming breathes as he sat on the sofa, his fingers clutching at the cushion. He was man enough to do this. People faced their fears all the time, without any problems. Woohyun, the man he was dating and the one he was fairly certain he was in love with, had only wanted to tell him the truth. Although the showing him had been a little much to handle all at once.

Sungkyu still wasn’t certain that he believed a man could turn into the gigantic dog he had seen, but the fact that he had made it out of the first encounter alive didn’t make him any more confident. If it was time to tell one another the truth, he had several dark and dirty secrets he would make certain Woohyun knew. It was only fair, if one of them was going to run in fear, the other might as well.

The small timer on the table dinged to let him know that the wait was over. “Only if you want to,” Woohyun had told him. He knew he could walk out the front door and there would be no hard feelings, but he wanted to do this, needed to do this for both of them. If he couldn’t accept this part of his boyfriend he didn’t think their relationship would work any longer and the idea of it failing bothered him.

Slowly, so as to remain calm, he rose and moved to the bedroom. He knew that the man was just inside, changed, as Woohyun had put it, into his wolf form. Woohyun had assured him that he would be lying on the floor and wouldn’t move unless Sungkyu asked him to. Even that wasn’t enough to completely reassure him. Dogs, for some reason, terrified him. They were unpredictable and had a habit of jumping on him, a creature the size that he remembered Woohyun to be could likely kill him by that alone.

Carefully, as if it too would hurt him, he turned the knob and pushed open the door. There on the floor lay a huge dog that looked too much like a wolf to really be called that. It was larger than any dog he had ever seen and it wouldn’t have surprised him if it stood nearly as tall as he was. Chocolate brown fur covered its form appearing rich and glossy in the afternoon patch of sun he was laying in. Sungkyu couldn’t deny that the wolf was beautiful, breath taking even, but he was huge. In fact he was fairly certain that his head could fit in the creatures jaws.

His heart caught in his chest and he leaned against the door frame trying to calm its wild beating. Golden eyes watched him and a short whine left the creature as if it could tell what his issue was. Still the large wolf didn’t so much as twitch as it watched him which was for the best. If that massive head had lifted from the carpet he didn’t think he would have been able to go through with it. “Just give me a minute,” he said softly. “You’re huge,” he admitted. The large tail swished a few times and the movement looked so ridiculous that it brought a smile to his face.

This was Woohyun, he told himself. This was the man who smiled at him. This was the man who made him laugh. This was the man who couldn’t keep his hands to himself no matter what they were doing. This was the man that had been moaning beneath him only twelve hours before. Woohyun would never hurt him, and therefore, this large wolf, no matter how scary it was, wouldn’t either.

“Just don’t move okay,” he murmured, knowing that if the creature so much as twitched, he would lose all his courage. As if showing him that he understood, the tail immediately stopped its motion.

He couldn’t start at the head that was just too close to what were undoubtedly huge sharp teeth. Carefully he shifted around the creature, waiting for the head to turn and follow him as any dog would. Woohyun, however, stayed perfectly still, even going so far as to close his eyes in relaxation. Sungkyu moved until he was standing just beside the creatures back leg and he looked down at it.

Like this, in the appearance of sleep, the wolf seemed somewhat harmless. Woohyun had invited him to pet him in this form and although he had thought the statement was silly at the time, he found that he really did want to touch the soft appearing fur. Slowly, and highly conscious of how venerable it made him, he dropped to his knees beside the creature. When there was still no movement from the creature as his fingers reached out and gently brushed the fur.

It was soft and warm under his touch and slid his fingers over it again simply to see how it felt. The motion and the lack of movement from the wolf, encouraged him to repeat the action, which he did enjoying the way it felt beneath his fingers. There was a large sigh from the creature that made him smile instead of scaring him like he thought it would. Maybe, just maybe he could do this. At least with Woohyun.

“Hey Woohyun,” he said hesitantly, as if worried how the creature would take the words. “I’m petting your ass,” his hand drifted over the fur once more as if to illustrate his point. There was a strange chuffing sound that sounded suspiciously like a laugh from the wolf and the mentioned hind quarters wiggled beneath his fingers. The motion didn’t scare him as much as he thought it would and his grin widened.

“I think this will work,” he admitted smiling as his fingers traced the length of the creature’s tail. “Now I have to tell you the truth,” Sungkyu said.

An ear flicked back towards him, the only motion or indication that the wolf was listening. “I,” he continued, “hate dogs, but I am secretly in love with cats.”

AN: So there were a few people that wanted the "Sungkyu meets werewolf" scene expanded, and my muses live to please. lol. Anyway I hope all of you have enjoyed these! For some unknown reason there were only 24 prompts posted so this is what I'm going to do. You may suggest a 25th prompt. I would need to know "Of __________" but you may also chose the pairing and situation that you might want as well. I will pick the one that my muses like the most to write. ^_^
