Of Presents
Struggling was beyond useless since he found himself weaker then a new born babe, a human babe for that matter. He could smell the silver twined in with the rope that was slowly sapping his strength, the metal that hurt him with its touch and made his Beast whine uncertainly in the back of his mind. It wasn’t enough to kill him, the creature that snuck up on him in the ally was careful of that much, but it did hurt and make him slightly nauseated.
The door opened and he immediately went on the defensive, a growl bubbling up from deep within his throat. He would have been safer and a much greater threat if he could manage to phase into his alternate form, but the ropes were too tight as it was. A shift to a more bulky form would likely cost him a limb, something he wasn’t willing to give up.
“I brought you a present,” the smooth voice preceded the creature’s entrance before he slipped in the room. Vampire, he could smell the stench of it. Not exactly his mortal enemy but their species did tend to stay away from one another out of respect for the mutual destruction they could cause to each other.
“A present?” a young voice said with excitement. “Jay you shouldn’t have.” A boy appearing no older than sixteen or maybe seventeen with bright blond hair pulled into a tail at the back of his neck, slipped around the other man and bounded into the room. “Oh a puppy!” he exclaimed clapping his hands excitedly.
Although the young man appeared to not yet an adult, he knew that appearances could be deceiving especially where it came to vampires. Judging by the body language of the other vampire in the room, the young one was something to be wary of.
“Yes, I’ll leave you to enjoy him them,” the one called Jay said.
“Oh thank you!” the younger vampire exclaimed. Then, moving faster than even his supernatural eye could follow, the young appearing man was across the room with his arms flung around the other vampire’s neck. “I appreciate it.”
The vampire was smiling as he pulled away and licking at his now slightly reddened lips. In the doorway, the other vampire hesitated for a moment longer ignoring the trickle of blood oozing from a puncture wound at his neck before bowing slightly and closing the door after him. With the other vampire gone, the young one turned its full attention on the man on the bed.
Inside him, his Beast released a full throated roar of aggression, not a great sign on the outlook of their chances. He struggled against the bonds, knowing that he couldn’t break them but every instinct in him forced him to try all the same.
“Oh now don’t do that Myungsoo,” the vampire called, and he froze at the sound of his name. No one called him that, not since he had stopped being human and had become something else. Since leaving the land of his birth, he had taken to calling himself L, the struggling actor trying to make a name for himself in the states. It would have been impossible for the vampire to have heard his name.
“You’ll hurt yourself.” The vampire edged closer and he tried to roll away, to put the bed between them, but he couldn’t seem to generate enough force. “I wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself my little stray puppy.”
Again he froze at the vampires words, it would be impossible for the creature to know that he wasn’t a part of a pack. So few wolves wandered as strays that there was no way he could have known for sure. It wasn’t as though there wasn’t an Alpha in area; Myungsoo could feel the presence of one. In fact that was where he had been headed when he had been jumped in the back ally.
“I just want to play for a bit and then I’ll give you over to the home for lost puppies. The dog that runs it is pretty nice to the new strays, or so I hear,” the vampire told him. His slender fingers reached toward the man. “It isn’t very nice that Jay muzzled you. Don’t worry pretty puppy I’ll scold him for that later.”
He made quick work of the ropes, pulling it away from Myungsoo’s still form. With the restriction gone, he tried to surge to his feet only to find that the silver had sapped much of his strength. Weakly he collapsed onto his stomach, producing a warning growl as he shifted away. He could phase now, take on his stronger and quicker form, but the change would leave him helpless for several long minutes, something that his instincts let alone his brain, couldn’t let him do.
“Awww I won’t hurt you. I just want to pet you and play with you. I promise,” the young vampires cooed moving closer. “My name is Sungjong and we are going to have so much fun together.”
Myungsoo tried to move, to fight, to do anything in protest, but as the creature neared him he found himself unable to do any such thing. Then, as the vampire moved in and sunk his fangs into the tender skin of his neck, he found himself unwilling to do anything but sigh and relax.
Masterlist AN: So a few notes here. First this particular drabble takes place before L is part of the pack and therefore before he is mated to Sungyeol. Secondly Sungjong is a very young looking very old vampires. Does anyone else feel like he is slighlty insane? (what in the world to my muses come up with...)
