11 nin mo iru! Episode 2 review

Nov 06, 2011 19:23

I thought that this episode is actually funnier than the first. lol. (yes, I got over the conservative neechan mode. :P)

This week's episode dealt with sexuality (hilarious gay antics), digital cameras and love interests.

putting everything under the cut~ watch out for spoilers~!

Ok, so the episode started with where episode 1 left off. The gay bar. :D

Kazuo being discovered by his dad to be working at a gay bar has now brought in more conflict to the family. As he is now believed to be gay... and his parents refuses to believe his argument that he really is just working there because of the 300,000 yen monthly salary and insists that its totally okay to be gay afterall they aren't a minority, anymore. Insert his dad blaming himself for telling Kazuo to enjoy his life... while his stepmom blames herself for not noticing the signs earlier. XD (The scene with the lettuce totally got me! lol! I was like "so that was the reason why he looked gay in that scene." XDDDDDD)

This argument leads to Kazuo running away for the night and ends up bumping to his co-worker Suzuki Soara. Ghost!mama Megumi follows him and prevents things from happening that night. (I literally laughed out loud on the scene with the lights. XD)

Meanwhile, Minoru is being conflicted with the fact that he doesn't own a digital camera which is the primary reason why he couldn't find a decent job. This prompts the children to do some sort of donation box to save up for their dad's digital camera. Minoru begins to think of stealing a camera but ends up thinking that his family will hate him for it.

This scene is a direct parody of the Dynamic family they always watch on tv. XD Speaking of the Dynamic family, Dynamic Papa appears on their cafe and turns out to be a big diva in real life that made them lose interest in watching the said tv show.

Another conflict presented in this episode is Kazuo's sister Niko (Arimura Kasumi) who goes home late at night and was discovered to be dating Kazuo's classmate Uno (played by Ryusei Ryo), who apparently is not serious to Niko and intends to lose his dotei status just before he graduates. An earlier encounter of Kazuo and Uno at the gas station shows that they aren't close. XD This part really reminds me of Stand Up! Dotei boys~ (Uno is talking with two other classmates with Kazuo eavesdropping. XD).

Kazuo becomes worried that Niko will lose her V-card to Uno and tries to look for her when she went on a date with Uno... but in the end he was the one who gave in to the pressure and loses his V-card to his co-worker Soara (her parents loves cars so they named her Soara and Kazuo says that Soara isn't from Suzuki but its from Toyota. lol! KudoKan pun~ XD)

Kazuo then comes home late for the family meeting, wherein they were joined by Hiroyuki-ojisan who is now living with them because his company is going bankrupt and lost the housing, and insisted that he went out looking for Niko whose cellphone was turned off by Uno. Making Kazuo generalize that all boys think of nothing but s*x. Ghost!mama Megumi figures out that Kazuo lost it that night and starts to scold him but she couldn't do anything because she is a ghost afterall. XD

The family wants to meet Uno but Niko is embarrased to bring Uno to their house because he's rich and they are poor. They then organized a belated birthday celebration of Hiroyuki to have Uno invited and Megumi then thinks that she was forgotten since she'll be celebrating her birthday that week. Having enjoyed the company of the Sanada family, Uno decides to stay overnight and actually bonded with Kazuo.

The episode ended with everyone greeting Megumi on her birthday and Saigo tells her that she isn't forgotten after all. Really sweet. :)
While Kazuo discovers that Soara has a yankee boyfriend, who owns the "Revenge" shirt that he earlier wears, and is ready to kick his arse. (It wouldn't be a KudoKan drama without the yankee/yakuza/gangs and other delinquents. :DDDD)

Like what I said earlier, I really enjoyed this episode more than the first. A lot of people have compared the first episode to Yamada Taro but this episode I believe sets the fact that it is different and much more cruel realistic. Not having a digital camera, for example, is the reason why the father is having a hard time getting jobs instead of having a totally useless father who travels the world to paint while he leaves his family to the eldest son. XD

I really enjoyed the exchanges of the dialogues, the pacing and the timing of the jokes. Add the fact that Kamiki's Kazuo is boiling in anger and speaking like a machine gun. lol! You can literally see the veins on his neck and him turning red in anger. The love scene isn't actually as disturbing as I thought it would be. lol! After rewatching with a calm heart and mind made me think that it is 1000000x more milder than what Nagase & Koyuki did for Ikebukuro West Gate Park.. and the image left for the imagination (montage! XD) is far milder than Sho's shaking Uchi's yacht in Kisarazu Catseye. XD

This episode also piqued the question of how Megumi died which she refuses to answer and instead tells Saigo that she'd rather have him touch her oppai... which turned out to be Saigo's worst nightmare. XDDDD

Seeing the teaser for episode 3 makes me want to watch it asap (I'm gonna watch it after this! YAY!!) because more conflict is here to stay and stress Kazuo out even more... poor bb. Soara might be pregnant yo~ as she hasn't got her period yet... and judging from the montage (tulip, anyone?! XD)... he was unprotected. LOL!  But this is what you call 'karma'. XD

/end~ off to watch episode 3~ :DDDD
