Promotion?
Well, it looks like I got the promotion I applied for at work about a week and a half ago. Well, on a temporary basis.
From what I was told, they anticipate only needing to bring on more Tier 3s for the next three weeks, at which point they won't need so many any longer, and we'll get sent back down. But if we want back when they have openings, we'd be at the top of the list. So, it's a foot in the door towards a permanent promotion.
I get bumped up to $10/hr, still not great money, but it gets me past the $20k threshold once again...although that would be if it were permanent. And for now I would keep my schedule, as well.
This is good because it shows a desire for advancement to prospective employers when I look for something new. A desire to take on a greater level of responsibility.
Considering that I never intended this job to be more than a temporary situation, I'm sure using it to my career-building advantage.
