Random bullet points

Lots going on, here's the rundown:

  • Still addicted to Champions of Norrath. Still enjoying the free EverCrack hit. Did I mention playing EQ without having to pay? Because, I am, in a sense. It's not exactly the same, but it's close enough.

  • Joe Lieberman. What can I say. Joe-mentum is now Joe-nertia. Couldn't happen to a nicer shill. If you don't like the fact that Clear Channel owns 20 radio stations in your city, and all they play is shit, thank Mr. Lieberman, among others. His vote for the Telecommunications Act of 1996 helped grease those skids. Not that he cared about that part of the bill. All he really cared about was getting the V-Chip into your home.

  • Mr. President. All I have to say to you, in regards to your statement this morning in Green Bay, is "who is 'we', kemosabe?" This was not a "we" endeavour. It was MI5 and Scotland Yard/Metropolitan Police. There was no "we". Tony was kind enough to keep you up to date on what was happening, but there was absolutely Jack and Shit that the US had to do with this. Don't go taking credit for the US in this operation. Give it James Bond. That's where it belongs. Or is it too hard for you to give all of the credit to your friends for having your back?

  • Average American sheep, please stop bleating blissfully as you have to toss your Coke in the trash. If a terrorist is so dedicated that they'd blow themselves up, why would they care if they had to take a sip of bomb-making liquids disguised as baby formula? We are no safer today than we were five years ago. The only thing that has changed is that the intelligence gathering, at least in some organizations, is better. But there hasn't been a single potential bomber caught by these extra security measure that we've instituted at our airports. Not a one. And the plots that we've "uncovered" with the stepped-up surveillance have been dubious plots, at best. Meanwhile, you idiots are going to say "sure, I can go three days without my Poligrip if my checked bags get lost in transit, no problem." What twits. Wise up and stand up for your rights. Those who would surrender their liberty for a sense of security will learn that they have neither, sooner rather than later; to paraphrase Mr. Franklin.

  • EPL season opens next weekend, and the lower leagues start this weekend. A couple of quick notes. First, go Spurs! And for League One, go Glovers! And finally, stuff it, Sepp Blatter. The EPL is fine as a 20-side league. This "demand" that premier leagues drop to 18 sides, like the Bundesliga has currently, is so much rot.

  • Mandatory overtime sucks. My body is feeling the effects of the stress from this (and from the car problems), and it's not happy. And by the end of nine hours of dealing with tech support I am really ready to go off the deep end.

  • My car is (allegedly) fixed. We shall see. This latest round was an idle air controller, two solenoids, an alternator and the computer module. The guy at the shop says that it's running beautifully now. I sure hope so. This round is costing me $917. So, take that with the plugs and wires and the lines that were replaced, and that's about $1900 in repairs in the last six weeks. I have other repairs that need to be made, too. Some more urgent than others.

That's all I can think of for the moment. But shouldn't this be enough?
