Thought it was about time i update...
Wow.. Download was absolutely AMAZING!!!
Me and Josh arrived at about 3.45pm on the Thursday, wandered around for what seemed like hours with mahoosive heavy backpacks, tents, sleeping bags etc, to find out there were NO camping areas left. After waiting about half an hour, another site was opened, which everyone rushed into and started setting up tents. After maybe half an hour or more, when we had near enough set up our tents, Squirrel and Simon arrived, and we (or rather i) set up Simons tent.
After that was done, we went for a wander, and i met up with Andy (a guy ive known on the internet for about 10 months). We spent that night hanging out with him and his friends, who were really nice ^_^ And they gave us beer and cigarettes, hehe!
Friday on the main stage i saw Throwdown, Soil, Strapping Young Lad, Soulfly, Coheed & Cambria- who were awesome live!!- (at this point Josh, Simon and Squirrel went elsewhere, and i stayed with Andy and Emily). We then headed to the Snickers Stage, and saw InMe and Atreyu (also both incredible live!). Hehe, i almost died during Atreyu!! Got 6 rows from the front, and was caught in a massive mosh, but it was great!! Andy saved me luckily *laughs* Oh, got hit by MANY bottles in the bottle fight! Was quite funny though, besides being covered in beer, coke, and who knows what else, lol >_<
We then went back to the main stage and caught part of Tool ^_^
Uum, that night we didn’t do much. Andy came back and stayed in my tent, thats about it.
Saturday i saw Sikth, Arch Enemy, Trivium, Korn and Metallica -wow, wow, wow, wow and wow live!! Lol ^_^ . (i missed lotsa bands that day as i had to queue for 3 hours to charge my phone, as it completely died! But it had to be done!) Spent the day with Andy, as i had no idea where the others had gone, and i couldnt phone as my phone was deaded! But it wasnt so bad ^_^ Actually.. it was freaking awesome!! Hehe! He stayed in my tent again that night. Uum, that night was actually really funny. Josh, Squirrel & Emily cooked beans, or rather like killed the beans!! They were all burnt and stuff, and they added various other ingredients- onion rings apparently, and wandered round for hours offering drunk people them! Apparently some ate them!! *laughs* I think i was asleep or something at this point..
On Sunday we all went to see Streetlight Youth (a band from Colchester, that apparently play at the pool club in Ipswich sometimes..), then me and Andy went to go meet another of my net friends- Gary and his friend Andrew, who were pretty awesome =] We watched Dragonforce- who were pretty wow! But i had to go after them, as i felt really sick/dizzy. Then me and Andy watched 36 Crazy Fists, In Flames- again both wow!!- (but i didn’t see all of In Flames due to passing out/falling asleep for a bit, but what i did see was awesome!). Then Lacuna Coil came on. They were incredible live! Really really good =] Then we half watched Cradle Of Filth and were partly messing about.. At last Bullet For My Valentine came on.. we headed to the front of the stage. We got 4 rows from the front <3 it was incredible!! Josh and Squirrel were caught up in the mosh behind us, and Simon got nearer the front apparently. It was amazing though, they were the band i most wanted to see, and i was so close to them! <3 Hehe, luckily Andy protected me from getting to hurt or crushed. Everyone was taller than me!! *laughs* >_<
Then me and Andy went to go watch Skindred who were pretty awesome, and then Lordi, who were also rather good, though we didn’t stay for all the songs as it was packed and too hot in there! We met up with Gary and Andrew again, and chatted while watching a bit of Guns ‘n’ Roses. I must say, Axl sounded terrible.. so i didn’t stay to watch the whole thing, but could hear it everywhere anyway.
Went and helped Andy pack up his tent and things, and went back to my tent where he stayed again for the final night. This night was crazy, there were riots in like most of the camps (luckily not ours!!) and fired everywhere, with deodorant cans and lighter fluid being put on them, causing like explosions! Josh an Squirrel found it amusing to join in with this.. *laughs* me and Andy were hidden away in my tent!
Monday morning was so so nice, being snuggled upto Andy for hours, but then he had to leave :’( That sucked so bad!!
Then everyone got up, and we packed away all our things and left for the journey home.
You actually have no idea how good it is to use a proper toilet, have a shower and have running water!! *laughs* it felt amazing to be able to shower!!
Anyway, Download was absolutely amazing, and the bands played really well! Was like the best experience of my life i reckon!
But yeah, all i can say is bring on Download ‘07!!
