I just finished making two loaves of bread, and I feel extremely accomplished. There is something about making bread that is different than cooking other food. Bread is something people have been making for hundreds of years and while I did not grind my flour or create any of the other ingredients, I still mixed the dough with my hands. I found the electric mixer to be completely useless, and my hands were much more efficient. Making bread is a very labor intensive process, and to think that some people do this every single day baffles and humbles me. I look at my two loaves with pride and admiration while others who make their bread view it as a daily task. I really don't know where I'm going with this...but I made bread.
