Reita merely watched his friend with the same entertained smirk the whole while he spoke. It still amazed him how someone so small and devious and foul-mouthed and... Ruki-like could be so cute; what an odd moment to think such a thing. "I really wouldn't mind living off of spaghetti, as long as I wouldn't have to make it..." His voice began to trail off though at the strange look in Ruki's eye just then, before he turned away.

"...What was that look for? You gonna poison my food or something?" he questioned nonchalantly before locking the car doors with the small remote, heading off in the direction of the stairs.

He lead them both up, both of them pretty familiar with the three round of stairs they had to travel up until reaching the right floor. Quickly unlocking the door and pushing it open, Reita waited for the smaller to enter first.

The climb up the stairwell wasn't all that bad, although it was annoying not having a lift to do the climbing for them - especially since Reita was carrying Ruki's heavy bag.

The door swung open and Ruki walked straight into Reita's sun drenched apartment. It wasn't huge, it wasn't all that fancy, but it felt like home; welcoming, calm, warm. The complete opposite of Ruki's own house. He turned around after walking a little further and watched Reita close the door.

Ruki raised his hands in the air and stretched his whole body as he turned around and walked towards the sofa. He ended up lying on the sofa with his hands folded behind his head - his body language couldn't have made it any more obvious how relaxed he was.

"When do you want your dinner, Rei-chan?" Ruki asked with a slight smile.

Reita watched his friend, clearly amused at how comfortable he seemed. From first glance it probably looked more like Ruki's place than his own. After closing and locking the front door he went off toward the spare room, dropping off the duffel bag and backpack he took while Ruki made himself comfortable, then made his way back into the living room.

Seeing the other so obviously relaxed gave Reita the urge to ruin it. Making his way to the couch, he lifted Ruki's upper half to make room for himself to sit, reaching for the nearby remote to turn on his precious television. "Sometime before I die of starvation would be nice, Ru-chan," he replied with an expectant glance down at the other then back to the screen.

Ruki pouted. Now..? But I just got here... His company had been happily replaced by the television and Ruki was shooed away to cook. But then again... how could he complain. Without Reita he'd be lucky to be living in a cardboard box - let alone a warm, safe apartment with his best friend.

Defeated, Ruki got up from the sofa and wandered slowly to the kitchen. How he despised Reita's television, not television in general... just the one that stole Reita's attention... He stole one last glance at the side of Reita's totally television-absorbed face before walking though the doorway.

As a large pot and a smaller pot simmered on the stove, Ruki's head planted itself firmly back into its daze of questions - questions such as Why is he calling me Ru-chan all of a sudden? Why is his apartment clean for once? Why does he keep looking at me weirdly? Why is this taking so long to cook? Yes... his brain was a train wreck of questions - so many questions; so chaotic and commanding of deeper thought that they had kept him from returning to the living room while the food was cooking.

Eventually he snapped back into reality and checked to see if the pasta was cooked. There were still a few minutes more to go. The sauce he had prepared was also nearly cooked through.

As Ruki left the room, Reita had began searching through the channels for something interesting enough to keep his attention. Already passing through about three shows or movies with couples on the current scene made Reita think of Keiko again, especially when he realized that one of the chicks on the show kinda looked like her. Maybe ignoring her call was a bit rude... he thought to himself with a soft sigh, eventually forcing himself up.

After grabbing his car keys from a nearby table, Reita's attention shifted in the direction of the kitchen when a familiar, delicious smell made its way over. Following the aroma to said room, his hungry eyes immediately fell upon the stove. "Ruki, you're starving me," he whined. "Is it almost done yet?" Making his way closer, Reita shifted his keys in his left hand, using the other to lift one of the lids and peer down at the food.

His stomach rumbled. Not fun.

He cocked an eyebrow as Reita intruded on his task. "Shut up, you can wait. You're like a five year old." Ruki joked at Reita's whining. The blonde obviously didn't realise how childish he sounded. He watched Reita nosily inspect the food. God, he really must be hungry...

Ruki noticed the keys in Reita's hand and frowned. "You're not going out, are you?" Ruki asked as he pulled two plates out of the cupboard. "I'm just about to serve up." He laid the plates out on the kitchen counter next to the stove. After he had drained off the spaghetti, he plated up the steaming meal and left Reita to help himself to sauce. Ruki sat down at the small table in the corner of the room with his plate of food.

Reita felt a pout coming on at the other's comment but he quickly and easily disregarded it with a small shrug. He ended up setting the lid down on the counter top to watch his so-called wife prepare the food, eyes lingering a bit too long. But he eventually snapped from his daze to reach for his own plate, tossing the keys aside and on the counter, and did the task Ruki so kindly allowed for himself to do; sauce.

"Well I was going to call Keiko back but I'm eating now," he replied as he followed his friend back to the small table and seated himself. Way to go, another distraction from talking to her. Easily pushing that thought aside, though, Reita eagerly dug in. He'd hear from her whiny ass later.

Keiko... fucking Keiko... Ruki couldn't help but despise her as she was another distraction for Reita. Ruki had a feeling that tonight wasn't going to go as planned, no doubt in his mind that this annoying girl he'd never met was going to come over and spoil his evening. Not Reita's evening... Just his own. Maybe Ruki was just being selfish, but he couldn't stand the idea of Reita having someone else over constantly - especially a girl he seemed interested in. Okay, now he really was being selfish.

"Right..." was all he could manage in response as he ate his meal quietly. He then refrained from raising his eyes to Reita's level - fearing Reita would somehow be able to look into his thoughts if he made eye-contact. "Are you going to invite her over?" He just had to ask, he wouldn't be able to stand it if she just showed up without Reita telling him first.

Reita ate quickly like the pig he was, staring down at his plate after a few minutes of eating and finishing. He ended up leaning against the chair's back and glancing over at the other, wondering if maybe he was just imagining things or if Ruki was suddenly bothered about something. He didn't think of asking though, as usual, already interrupted in his thoughts from Ruki's question.

"No," he began casually. "But she'll probably invite herself over." That was if he called back. And if he didn't, he would feel guilty for the rest of the night and he wasn't sure if he could handle that. With a sigh Reita stood, heading back over toward the counter to fetch his car keys. "I'll be back," he said before making his way out the kitchen door and apartment.

Ruki's eyes widened as he looked up to see Reita's plate empty while his own was nearly full. How the...

but his thoughts were quickly interrupted as Reita spoke. At first it seemed hopeful and then it shattered. "Yeah, alright." Ruki replied as Reita left the apartment. Ruki slammed his fist hard onto the wood of the table - making the plates clatter under the sudden jolt. It was just as he suspected, his thoughts were selectively making themselves reality - but they were not the thoughts he wanted to become reality…

A few minutes later the front door opened once again and there was Reita with his phone, already on it. "Yeah, I know. ... Yes, Keiko. ... I already apologized. Twice. ... What the hell? What more do you want from me?" Another short pause and Reita released a heavy sigh, leaning against the locked front door and just remaining quiet. It was pointless to even talk.

Eventually he was relieved of her complaints only to hear that she was coming over so they could speak in person. Before he could refuse, she had hung up, leaving a frustrated Reita glaring down at his phone. Things had never been this... annoying before, let alone Keiko.

Ruki had finished most of his meal when Reita wandered back in, seeming fairly frustrated while on the phone. Ruki watched as Reita stood there just glaring disgustedly at the device in his hand. What the hell had she said? But he wouldn't dare ask - besides, it was clearly bad news and he didn't want to risk being snapped at for it. Ruki sighed and got up from the table to clear away the leftovers - picking up Reita's plate as he went.

Reita was eventually knocked from his not so very positive thoughts at the sound of rustling in the distance, exhausted eyes slowly glancing over to watch his friend. A small, almost unnoticeable smile crept upon his lips before he made his way toward his favorite couch. "Wow. You really would make a nice wife," he found himself murmuring thoughtfully, falling onto his front on the couch. His legs and feet kicked at the air and constantly hit at the cushions in a childish fashion, his pout matching. "Unlike Keiko..." he muttered bitterly.

Narrowed eyes watched the television screen before remembering something. "...Who should be over in about ten minutes." Already and a bit easily he could tell Ruki disliked her, even if he didn't know her, but Reita wasn't sure if he was supposed to have figured that out or not.

He sighed. "But since you don't really like her, Ruki, I guess I could keep her out of the apartment and make us talk outside." It was just a suggestion. A suggestion Reita waited an interesting reply for, to see if his assumption was true.

Despite his friend's continued comments about Ruki's adequate abilities to become a nice wife, he continued about his usual after-dinner routine of cleaning up. It seemed one of the many tasks his parents forced him to do daily was drilled into his brain as a 'must do'.

The murmuring coming from the living room didn't hold much hope for Reita's mood. It seemed as if Reita had hit the same emotional slump that Ruki had over the same situation. What was said wasn't all perceivable, so Ruki just chose to let it go. Then, Reita spoke louder and more clearly... and Ruki froze.

"Who said I didn't like her? I haven't even met her before." Ruki stated firmly and folded his arms. Oh no way was Reita going to trick the truth out of him. Ruki could put up a convincing front of lies. "Why should I care if you talk in here, I'll go out in the hallway while she's here if it makes you feel better."

Oh, he was good. Almost too convincing. Now Reita wasn't sure whether or not to believe himself or his friend. Not wanting to automatically jump to conclusions though he decided to just drop it for now, humming a skeptical 'mhm' before lifting himself into a sitting position. "Whatever you say..."

A good few minutes passed after Reita had gotten absorbed into the television before he was knocked from his trance, eyes turning to glance over at the front door. For a moment he just stared at it before looking back to the screen. A loud series of bangs erupted seconds later and an annoyingly high-pitched voice yelled. "Reita, I know you're in there!"

"No shit..." he muttered, making his way to the door with a highly unpleasant glare. Reita took a glance over in Ruki's direction before unlocking and opening the door, staring down at a lightly tanned brunette dressed in a skimpy dress, pigtails adorning her lengthy hair.

"Okay. What are we supposed to be talking about again?" he asked, irritated.
