ETA: Downloads for the coverettes
here and
here.
For
runesque, a coverette of Otsuka Ai's Kingyo Hanabi, horribly mangled in many places. Please forgive me. OTL
And another coverette: Nakashima Mika's Sakurairo Maukoro
Definitely still more comfortable with a capella |D;
And to round off this quite pointless post, have a meme nabbed from
rainy_takako while I was in China lmao:
▶ What is the character you've drawn the most (Can be original or fanart)?
To date? Possibly Hibari. But that's mostly probably because of that KHR meme from awhile back--oh, hell with it. I'm bored enough to count. Here's the top 3:
Hibari: 49 (LMAO I even found facebook doodles omg these SUCK SO HARD)
China: 43 (... this has to be because of those HWFC comic strips. And I didn't even count the really shitty stickfigures from Round 03. OTL)
Heihei: 37 (most of which are from an unposted expression practice/the original doujin lol)
▶ What colour do you often use?
BLACK. No, I lie. Red, or some variant shade of it.
▶ Any colour you are bad at using?
HOLY SHIET. Anything to do with blond hair; greens that aren't tinged with yellow; neon colors.
▶ When drawing people, where do you start?
Used to be head. Now am slowly trying to train myself to do stick figures first.
▶ What is a character only your eraser will love?
Every single one of them. Even my OCs. Even Hibari and any other character I love. IT'S QUITE THE TRAGEDY.
▶ Which of your works took the longest time?
H-HAHAHAHAHA. Anything pre-tablet, pre-OpenCanvas, pre-Amano influence took forever. But post-2008, I'd say probably that one Gintama pic. Took me almost 2 weeks, I think, and mostly because Hijikata wouldn't stop looking like a bastard 6918 lovechild?
▶ What techniques do you use when you want to improve in drawing?
Look at other people's art and hope to absorb their skills via diffusion.
▶ What do you think of the art of the person who gave you this picturememe?
Your art's a lot better than you give it credit for. I'm particularly envious of your sketches actually--they're so clean that they honestly could double as lineart.
▶ What art tools/media are you good with?
CTRL+Z BB. I got used to my tablet in less than half an hour when I first plugged it in? I also like mixing colors if that counts for anything?
▶ Art tools/media you are bad at?
Anything that's permanent and cannot be solved with CTRL+Z. LIKE PENS, ohgod the traumaaaaa.
▶ What do you think about your own art?
Anatomy/perspective/dynamics need work. Am stuck in a little "male-only" bubble--drawing girls is still somewhat heinous, alas, alas.
▶ Do you consult magazines for your drawings?
Why magazines when you have THE INTERNET?
▶ What do you like about your art?
Once in a while I can turn out a good-looking guy... once in a while.
▶ What habits do you have while drawing?
- If I'm trying to draw an extreme expression, I'll probably be making it myself.
- Losing motivation real fast and reading fic.
- Vandalizing my own pictures when I get tired (see: Tunayoshi. Self-cest!59, etc.)
▶ Are you good at drawing faces facing right?
Sure?
▶ How frequently do you draw?
Whenever I feel INSPIRED. 8D
▶ What do you do when you have artist's block?
Read fic. Do something else, essentially.
▶ What must you have when you draw?
MAI TABLET. And a keyboard. Music. The Internet/Fic for when I get frustrated.
▶ Do you have a lot of stray lines (messy lineart)?
I try not to with serious lineart. SKETCHES on the other hand.... there's a reason why I wish I could con other people to lineart my sketches for me but can't because it's. Really. Impossible. OTL
▶ What is drawing to you?
Something to soothe my aesthetic senses; a channel/venue through which my fangirl soul can travel; a skill that didn't get enough parental love/support and is doomed to a somewhat stunted growth 8Db.
▶ Your goal from now on
The same thing every time: IMPROVE.
▶ Artists you've had influence from?
Pre-2007: CLAMP, Minekura Kazuya, Kaori Yuki, Kairi Yuki (circle: Ground Zero)
Post-2007: Amano Akira, KIZ (circle: Nari)
▶ Artists you like?
P-pass.
▶ Which is easier to draw, humans or animals?
Humans.
▶ Please tell us the title(s) of your own comic(s)
I WISH--I mean, we're working on it Pomoland still. Slowly. Slooooowly.
▶ Show us an old picture
Oh, for the love of god PROTECT YOUR EYES.
Since this was never finished, it never got dated. I think it's from 2003? I swear to god, I have a freaking folder of similar drawings from 2002-2004: unfinished heads + little to no attempts at a body. Maybe this is why I fail so much at anatomy right now...
▶ What is the charm-point of your art?
Double-you tee efffff. I don't oggle my own art enough to know, sorry. ("Charm point" seriously?? |D)
▶ What is the first thing you would draw if we're talking about fantasy?
Dudes with big swords. Imperial robes and oriental armor! :D Um. SPESHUL THINGS.
▶ Please draw your most beloved character:
Okay, FAIL. It's official: I can no longer draw PD!Hibari.
▶ When thinking of characters is it mostly female? male? or androgynous/no sex?
HAIRLESS, BOOBLESS, MAN-NIPPLED CHESTS Male.
▶ What did you draw yesterday?
Nothing. Haven't been in a drawing mood in like, forever. :(
▶ What is the funnest part to draw?
Heads, elbows, expressions.
▶ What part of other people's drawings do you notice first?
Faces, anatomy, lines. Color, if any.
▶ Regarding backgrounds, what is your method of making it easier to draw?
Y HARRO THAR NEGATIVE SPACE.
▶ What colour coordinations do you like?
... hold on. /HAS TO REFERENCE DEVART FOR THIS ONE OTL Reds/yellows/browns, grey/pastels, reds/anything, black/peacock hues, blue/yellow/skin tones
▶ What character did you last draw?
Umm... Hibari, I think. A quick doodle cube over at my oekakiBBS about a week ago.
▶ Does your style change easily?
It did go through a major change just recently but I wouldn't say it changes easily--only when I see something new that I really like and incorporate it into whatever's my existing style.
▶ What part of drawing do you pay most attention to?
Poses, hands... anatomy in general.
▶ How do you feel about drawing H pictures?
You can't make meeee Am totally and utterly incapable~
▶ Do you like criticism from others?
If solicited, definitely. If not, then it means I already know what's wrong with the picture, but have lost all motivation to work on it. Hahaha. Ha.
▶ How many people do you normally draw per artwork?
ONE. Or two. Anything more than two is rare. Five is the ceiling cap so far, but I'll try to muster up enough grit to draw a free-for-all character bonanza one day.
