Well, getting hoisted up the mast Thursday evening to install the spinnaker halyard was a bust. And Thursday evening not working is understandable. Hopefully it can happen Sunday.

So yeah, the winds are still supposed to be nice and calm Sunday, perfect for installing this halyard. What needs to happen is I need to get strapped into this little chair (no really, bosun's chairs are made for this) and have somebody hoist me up to the top of the mast, where I run the spinnaker halyard through. I can't very well hoist myself up, and I need somebody who's at least a little familiar with boats to help me with this, as my life would literally be in their hands. Two people would be ideal. I'll be about 40 feet up in the air, which is why the time to do this is when there's very little wind.

Sunday I have the whole day available to do this, and naturally Sunday is usually easier to find somebody to help me. This is what's great about October around here is there's usually almost NO wind. This Sunday is THE perfect opportunity to do this.

If you're reading this, and you're willing and available to help, please let me know. Or if you want to just tag along and drink beer while laying in the sun and watching somebody else hoist me up, that's good too, because believe me that is relaxing.

Things to be done on the sailboat I need help with, now or in the future:

Installing the spinnaker halyard (can only do this when there's no wind)
Setting the timing on the motor (can do this any time I have help)
Laying down the new carpet I shouldn't need help for, but it could be fun, also the carpet isn't cut yet (or even picked up yet) so that's not current.
And putting in the new stairs I'll definitely need help for. But really all that is is lowering it down into the cabin and sliding it into place. All the actual work of making / fixing needs to be done ahead of time, on land, and actually that hasn't been started on at all, so it's not happening that soon.
