Very interesting addition to such an original story. Laura and Carolanne as contemporaries in Bill's life should keep him on his toes. I like the parallel with canon here, that Carolanne has family who can assist in Bill's chosen career, the possibility that this will give her a hold over him, but surely she can't really compete with Laura for his affections?

I love this... The confidence of Laura posing immediately as his manager and, him taking the bait. I loved the original piece as well. But I find this point of view brought in a different strength to it, by it's future implications and the competition between the two women.

This Laura reminds me of someone I know, bold, confident, pragmatic... ;)

Such an interesting twist!! I love bringing in Carolanne's POV, did not see that coming. As sln pointed out, how her family can help Bill and his career is a great canon detail!!I love her last name too, fitting for sure. Bill did love her, he wouldn't keep bringing out that photo every year and trudging up her memory to talk to.

Nice line, "Red trumped blonde", damn right it does, but I can't wait to see where you go with this. I'm hoping for a future chapter. Great work, I really enjoyed it.
