This is such a wonderful scene. Love the "get back here" and "you're not my commander and chief anymore". LOL!! I always love their playful banter. I wish we'd had a little more of that in the show. ;) Greedy shipper that I am. I love the birthday suit line of win too!! Heh!! Sweet last lines, it really was when Laura started living. Sniff!! Beautiful work!!

“Really? You appear to be wearing the appropriate suit.”

!!!! OMG, Bill! Ba-dum-ching! Very sly. I can see that big, toothy grin of his from here!...

“The day you started living.”

Ah, but then it gets serious again, but in a misty sort of way. I don't think it's going to be a very long dance; I think they might get a little distracted, and end up back in that warm cocoon of blankets before long. ;-)

So much to like about this and so much story in these 300 words. The details set the scene so well and the mood between them is lovely, languid and comfortable, playful and romantic.

The fact that Laura talks about her family, that openness from her, indicates the emotional intimacy between them which is as meaningful as the physical intimacy they have finally shared while that last line of Bill's indicates that he is at least trying to understand the choice she has made about her future - as hard as that is later going to prove to be for him to live with. The extent of the bond between them coming through in every line of this drabble, every line of dialogue between them, the loving, teasing jibes.

Absolutely delightful. Thank you.
