Someone thinks winning a Pulitzer will impress his publisher? She's not easily impressed, Adama.

Dead trees had tremendous data integrity in proper conditions.

Bill's gonna learn her along the way.

And you noted one of my favorite lines.

You said grep! AWESOME.

Editor-in-Chief of the CAPRICAN TIMES was a good gig, but Bill couldn’t remember his last byline.

I particularly liked this bit. Bill's the kind of guy who would crave getting his hands dirty once in a while, instead of the safe environment of the corner office. Even though he's got a talent for command, didn't you get the feeling that he would have liked to be out there in a Viper, blasting the hell out of some Cylons?... I know I did.

In my quest for awesomeness, I Googled hard copy. There was grep! How could I NOT use it?

Hee!

Your take on Bill in this a/u & the real BSG u, trufax. While he might technically be considered a 'desk jockey' in both, I, too, believe he's the kinda guy who longs to be in the thick of it all.

This made even more sense after I looked up 'grep' but even when I was wondering whether that was an unusual typo I still liked your drabble.

Great way to tie this au into canon. Cleverly done. Thank you.

Yeah, I bumbled upon 'grep' & it was perfect. I'm glad you looked it up AND that you liked my drabble even when you thought it was a typo.

: )

This challenge was my first true foray into the world of writing pure a/u. And I love weaving canon...

I'm really enjoying this one.Heh. "Dead trees had tremendous data integrity in proper conditions." Great line!!! Bill would have been a great writer/editor. Wonderful use of the word "grep", where did you pick that one up? Yes, I had to look it up Miss Kastari.

G-O-O-G-L-E.

ar_drabbles is such a great classroom, isn't it? Searching for a drabble idea, 'hard copy' popped into my head. aussie & I have PM'd about a 'newspaper' possibility. When she took the ball & ran with it, I got my idea & wanted to see what the search engine would come up with when I plugged in the words 'hard copy.' And "grep" was right there.

You are an excellent student.
