My youngest daughter had basketball practice until 8:00 tonight, and she hadn't finished her chores before she left. She came into the living room after and asked, "Mommy, will you help me with my chores?"
I said, "Well, I did the dishes and if you make sure there's no clothes just lying in the floor in your room, we'll call it done."
She walked back through the playroom and told her sis, "I love Mommy."
My oldest, who is 11, muttered something. It sounded like it might be something awfully nice, but I wasn't sure if I heard right, so I asked her what she'd said.
It was, "How can you not?"
I'm an emotional sort, but still not normally inclined to throw mush at you guys. But I just gotta say...
I
my girls.
