Where have you been?!

I'm sure everyone has been wondering just a little as to my whereabouts as of late, so this post is to specify just that. I've been super busy with not only my family, but work as well. I'm sure that a few of you were aware that my part time job sucked because of the owner holding an unprofessional grudge, and that I've been job hunting for quite a few months. Thanks to the kindness of a regular in at work, I was finally able to snag a full-time job! I tried to see for a week if I could stick it out and work both jobs, but since my full-time job is manual labor, I just can't pull off both. So Saturday, the 16th, I had put in my two weeks notice at my crappy part-time job.

My hours at my new job restrict me more than I could ever imagine. The hours are 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. So, I have to go to bed at 10:00pm to wake up at 6:45am in order to get to this new job of mine that has awesome benefits that I'm in need of, [health, dental, 401k], and these times don't leave me to do much else, especially if I've got to go to my part-time job the same day. It's just exhausting and I've been trying to adjust since I got the job on January 11th. Fortunately, I can count on my part-time job to suck so bad that I only have three days left before I quit and officially leave...yeah, I'm not gonna miss my $50 paychecks there, but I will miss the regulars and staff; such nice people, but run by awful standards and flat out rudeness. I usually don't complain about many things that I should; I'm very tolerant in that sense, but this part-time job just brings out the worst in some people. So many good people get so frustrated and angry working there that they wouldn't normally otherwise; it's just horrible! Anyways, my last day is January 30th, so that mess will be out of my hair and this new job should allow me to pay for my car, and move out on my own.

Another reason I've been so busy is that a family member died. My memaw, [grandma], passed away Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 at roughly 10:20pm. She'd had alzheimers for twelve years and I was with my family till the funeral on the 18th. I wasn't in the greatest of moods and still have an awful crink in my upper back from dealing with my family; most of which dropped her like a sack of potatoes when she was diagnosed with the horrible disease. It made me angry that they were even there because they didn't visit her, call to see how she was doing, nothing. They just scattered across the states and didn't think anything of it. Their own mother...two out of her eight children cared enough to make sure she was properly cared for. It's just something I've always been disgusted in my family that they'd do that...I couldn't even imagine abandoning my mother if anything like that ever happened to her! [no matter what's been between us in the past, it's just wrong to abandon your own flesh and blood because there's something wrong with them!!]

On top of all this, both of my laptops crashed on the same day...yeah, nice. So that took me at least three days to get back in order and there's still things I'm adjusting on my main laptop.

So, I'll be working as best I can to finish up commissions; with everything going on, I just kind of put them on hold, but I promise I will get them done! Group auctions will be posted some time tonight or tomorrow and I'm hoping to ship out everything on the 30th. I have not shipped any of my auctions out either, but I will get them out, I promise!
