Osama bin Laden

Seemingly taunting Osama bin Laden, President Bush's homeland security adviser said the fugitive al-Qaida leader is "virtually impotent" beyond his ability to hide away and spread anti-American propaganda.

Here we are, in 2007, watching this situation:

Osama bin Laden approves and supports mass murder in our country. It succeeds in two out of three cases, assuming Flight 93 was headed for Washington. Then, he eludes capture for six years (in two days), managing to continue to send messages to followers, transmitted via means ranging from human courier to Internet video, reaching with such messages as many persons as George W. Bush. He can easily plan, approve, fund, and direct terrorist attacks from his current location, obviously.

Tell me again who is virtually impotent.

Tragically, I think the next al Qaeda attack in the United States will show who that is. But, of course, schoolyard taunts are pretty much all the Bush Administration understands.
