Well, Queen Empress Bitch Dog is home and already asserting her personality. She has a lovely den all set up in Bob's office, with her own water and and fan pointed on her. But she keeps trying to escape and be in the living room with "Da Boyz". She asked me to take her out, and I did, but all she wanted to do was go back inside through the living room door. Clearly she just wants things to be normal. But we don't want the boys accidentally stepping on her or jostling her less than 24 hours after surgery.
Bob just called me into his office to see her. She has shunned all the cushions and dog beds and blankets we spread out for her and is laying on the cold hard tile. She is such a weirdo!
She looks like she got in a fight with a chainsaw and lost. The vet had to take her entire scapula and the incision is just not pretty. But we remember how bad Preston looked after his surgery, and now you have to go looking for his scar. So the swelling will go down and it will look a lot better. It's frankly hard to look at her now because she's bruised and all different colours. But I got a great photo of her when she laid down and turned her head just so:
It's going to be a tough week, but she hasn't yipped once yet. And she seems absolutely determined to be normal. She even forced herself to go down some steps that she didn't have to take. I bet she'll be out on her couch in a day or two because ain't no power in the 'Verse can stop her!
Thanks for all your good wishes.
