Bad News for our International Customers

Jan 28, 2013 10:05

As you may already know, the US Postal Service increased its shipping rates yesterday.  While their rates didn't change enough for us to change our US shipping charges on the website (you can still order two patterns to ship for $7 and shipping is free if you order over $100), the international rates have changed dramatically.

Shipping to Canada has gone up from $13 for 1-2 patterns to $20 and from $30 for more than two to $42.

Europe and Australia will be paying $23 for 1-2 patterns (instead of $15) and $60 instead of $30 for more than that.

The good news is that we have partners all over the world from whom you can buy our patterns.  So if you find shipping too steep, please patronize one of them.  Here's the link:  http://www.reconstructinghistory.com/where-to-buy

We're sticking with the US Postal Service because, even though these rates seem astronomical, the same size boxes shipped via UPS and Fedex to international addresses are often more than twice the price. And Customs seems to be easier in most countries when we ship USPS.

So please forgive us these increases.  We wish they weren't necessary.  But we have to keep paying for postage to get your patterns to you when you need them.
