Oh my god, I am absolutely in love with this pairing and what can I say? They are totally meant for each other, totally an OTP! Yes, HD or DH stands for Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy or Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter in the Harry Potter fandom. If anyone does see this, the homophobic ones will be like 'what the fuck?' and blah blah blah and anyone with sense and aren't homophobic can see they were meant to be. Okay, I might not seem like I have much of a value argument but I know for a fact that people are always flaming because they don't like slash or yaoi or anything gay or lesbian. Really, people get over it! I don't exactly follow any religion, if any it would be Buddhism, but really I follow my parents, like so many kids these days. But anyways, I thought love was love no matter what? What are you to deny someone what they want? Why are you dictating what someone wants or needs for that fact? Who are you to say no, I mean no one made you god or some holy higher being than any of the rest of us. Oh sure, I know there is history and the bible and other stuff and much more I don't know about but no offense to anyone but how are you to know everything that has been recorded that's been done throughout life. And I thought life was precious and something everyone is going to live through and everyone seems to want love. We don't know the future, we don't know what tomorrow will bring, so aren't we suppose to be living our lives to the fullest, 'live each day so that there are no regrets'. And then shouldn't people be trying to sport open minds rather than closed minds? Closed minds seem to produce much more tragedies or so I've found.
Anyways, Harry/Draco, how can you not have them together? I know some don't justify it, but what can we really justify from what JK gives us? No offense to her, I do love her for bringing to life my two favourite boys but our main characterization we know of anyone is Harry and even then, Harry can be prod at and analyzed and so many different versions can come out, just as any other character. And then Draco, there's like nothing on him, just the basics of 'oh, he's the son of a Death Eater and acts as a bully', yadda yadda yadda. So you know how evil Volemort is, how do you not know that all the Death Eaters have gone corrupt and have gone crazy? How do you know that Draco isn't hurting underneath, that he does have feelings. Come on, you know everyone does have feelings, so way or another, even if you're crazy, there's always at least one thing that will make you click and that's probably the thing that's most important to you. Anyways, you can say I'm biased, and I'm not denying it, I adore my boys, especially after what I've heard, read, know about from the fandom world, though I know people are going to argue that that's just it isn't it, everything is from the fandom world? *Shrugs* I can't say and you can't say anything that can refute it or whatnot, JK can try I guess but truthfully, what are you do to stop fantasies and imagination? And from there what can be said, unless everything is written exactly to the dot, there's always some possibility to find a loop-hole somewhere, there always is.
I'll admit that's not all I have to say about Harry/Draco, there definitely is so much to say but I really think if you even decided to keep an open mind and read a fic about them or I'll even go as far to say to read a fic with any pairing and you just might fall in love with other people's characterizations because something is created just so that it can be improved right? Throughout everything, everything is always being constantly changed , altered for the better or maybe for the worst sometimes but our lives are constantly changing and in a way, an open mind will accept that when a closed will not. And for my Harry/Draco, the authors characterizations of them are so beautiful sometimes, it can be a mind-blowing experience, all you have to do is try, what wrong is it and how hard is it to do that? And what are they to be flamed and yelled at for expanding on something wonder and beautiful as HD that JK gave us and gracing people with their hard work? Some things are so under appreciated which suck, hopefully with more awareness, we get more HD lovers :D!
But yeah, Harry/Draco are just beautiful together, whether they're enemies or as friends, or as lovers, they seem to fit so well. Enemies, they're the only ones that each other really fights towards. Friends, they're so similar that they don't see it, they're idols to many, I can say, even though JK hasn't, that they have similar builds, I'm sure they both do adore Quidditch and depending on the situation, they practically depend on each other, you'll see what I mean in the fics and then they're different in aspects and depending on the situation or personality it'll be different, Draco has his mask, Harry is open; Draco may have real friends, maybe not, Harry supposedly has great friends that will stand by him; Draco is supposedly on the dark, while Harry is on the light, though I would say war doesn't actual define itself in just those terms, there's always the side of grey; they're opposites in outside appearances, one being darker-skin and other pale and more. Lovers, are they not opposites attract? They could even be a match made in heaven in the right setting, soul mates to the very end, don't argue, just try reading one. Anyways, with the war, the love makes them stronger to set to do what they have to do, in order to live and protect and bring a life for the future. That was vague and you can say that it can be used for any pairing, and I'll admit I wouldn't know if it works with others cuz I haven't tried any, HD are my one and only. But I swear, there are so many well written, explored and literally perfect fics out there that show how much they are meant to be together. I've tried many already, my life for the past half year or more has been solely focused on the beautiful HD fics.
Eclipse by Mijan: this was great, not exactly explicit slash, exactly what some homophobes need to get over slash though I probably really need a sequel for it. But it shows how they really depend on each other and how they do it unknowingly in a way.
