Life Update...short summary

May 11, 2005 14:05

I've been procrastinating about making an entry in this thing since last week, but now since I've been reduced to shit bits by aregularmess for not writing anything about the 21 Jumpstreet Marathon, I have no choice but to defend my honor...

Wednesday 05/04/05 - went to karaoke at Henrietta's with (omitted for identity protection) and Em. She, whose name won't be mentioned had sang "Like a Virgin" and crap...I can't remember what the other song was, giving a stellar performance with rolling around on the floor and all. As if that wasn't gift enough, I also received a can of sauerkraut and a handball to cap off an already amazing evening.  I played trivia and crosswords on the arcade type machine in the back.  I also met a woman from Holland who studies criminology and visits prisons around the world.  She told me that she visited Ryker's Island that day and it was the worst one she had seen so far...go figure.

Thursday 05/05/05 - even though I planned to sleep Wednesday off I wound up back at Henrietta's for Dot's birthday/Mardi Gras.  Yet another person came up to me and told me I look like Kirsten Dunst, which is a pretty nice compliment, but I feel bad Kirsten...  In any case, she told me she will call me Kirsten from now on, and she is the only one who should be allowed.  (Yeah, try explaining that to a sugar-ridden, hyper-active bunch of hebrew school boys!!)  I also bought a Ukrainian cake for Dot, but left too early to find out if she tasted it....

Friday 05/06/05 - My best friend calls me out of nowhere.  She's been studying for her medical exams so we hadn't seen each other in months.  She calls me to tell me that she's coming over, then calls back and tells me that our other close friend is coming too.  Then they tell me they're getting married.  There's still a part of me that doesn't believe them, because if not she, he would definitely go that far to prank me.  He even got her face in a hologram on a key chain, telling me that that's proof.  To which I said, any mall, 5 dollars, but I think it's slowly sinking in.  And since I am the maid of honor (HA!) I will have lots of fun designing her wedding gown and planning the event.  I wonder if her folks would go for a female rabbi....

Saturday 05/07/05 - (this is for you Dezh) The 21 Jumpstreet Marathon, ($240 dollars worth of pudding, oooh - yeah!)  Ok, so since I missed the last marathon (not because I didn't show up, but because no one opened the door for me even after I though rocks in their window, or at least I think it was theirs) I felt that I owe it to myself to do so.  I don't want to get into too much detail because as Dezh aka aregularmess pointed out in her last entry, everyone wrote about the evening accept for me, I don't have to.  I will say that secretly, a part of me was more interested in watching the damn thing (or as John would say, "Do the damn thing, girl!") I still enjoyed the latter part of the evening.  At first there was just too much madness from the boys and the atmo was pretty loaded with tension, but it settled down and got better.

By the way, prior to us getting there...Marta and I got into a fight at home before leaving, so we actually didn't talk to each other the whole way to Jay's house.   When we were walking the 10 blocks from the N train, some guy hit on me, which was really funny, but I ignored him and pretended not to care, but I was dying to laugh...  So anyway, I was wearing really tight jeans, I know what you're thinking, like I ever wear anything else, and this Puerto Rican kid starts walking behind me and saying "I'll take you to the candy shop, I'll let you lick the BIG lolly pop.." he continued until I disappeared from his horizon, which was a really long time since I'm a fucking giant.  The funny thing is, I really wanted to sing back "Never gonna get it, never gonna get it..." you know the En Vogue song, but since I have no musical talent, I decided against it.

Back to the marathon...after the interracial episode we watched MST3K which was fucking awesome since I haven't seen it for fucking ever.  "Let's go finish the conversation on the bridge."  In any case, it was extra exciting because we watched "Mitchell" which is a hysterical episode, and since Marta has never seen MST before she almost crapped on herself from laughter.  And I think if we're honest with ourselves, I think we all did a little....

Sunday - 05/08/05 Went out for sushi or really sushimi with my mom and little brother.  Afterward we swung by another mother's day party by the beach, but my mom was too cold, and I felt it wasn't really our scene anyway.  Then we grabbed some sweeties and went to her other friend's house who has just come back from france.  We drank champagne and talked about france. lol it was crazy because her daughter and her kept fighting.  I told her daughter that I will use her mouth as an ashtray because she has no manners!! :))

I probably lost you at "my honor" but if you're still reading, wow, you must really like me...as you should!
