So I talked to Brian Priefer last night about the possibility of moving in as a housemate and did some more packing. My co-worker just moved and gave me like 50 boxes. It should be enough to pack everything. I am going to Lollapalooza Thursday night so I will lose this whole weekend for packing which really only gives me a few days to get it all ( Read more... )

Oh ok..

Well still you are moving on the 19th, I was confused... Move day, close day, most people do it all in the same day..

No I should be drunk though

Haha, I thought that might be what you meant. It will give me a few days to go over it and finish anything that needs to be done. Measure shit out, do a once over with nothing in the house. Christen the rooms, you know, the standard.

no painting?

in the purchase agreement on the new condo I've written in a clause that I can start painting her condo as soon as I have a purchase agreement on my house. IE, before I take possession.

That rules, because then I don't have to move a bunch of shit to paint, and I want to paint pretty much every room.

why do I do this to myself?

The bottom of the kitchen is the only color that bothers me, the rest are neutral so it's no big deal for me right now

if there's any piece of sage advice I can give, it's to do everything you can manage before you move in.

once you move in, all the work you want to do will be more difficult, because you'll have to move your stuff to do it, or not use that room, and you'll feel like you're constantly working on your house. which you will be.

I say take that time after you close but before you have to be out of the apartment to paint, especially in the kitchen, because life sucks when you're working on the kitchen.
