Florida was lotsa fun, and the weather was perfect 80's + sunshine...just what the doctor ordered. It's amazing what sunshine and warmth can do for the soul :-)
Jackson was a superstar in the airport/plane which helps to keep my stress levels from rising especially since I was travelling with him by myself.
The trip itself was fun and included lots of pool time, riding bikes/scooters, visit to the zoo/waterpark, playgrounds and Disney! Looking back, we did have a pretty packed schedule but honestly I took things slow. It's amazing how fast we move here in the city and how much slower things move elsewhere (LOVE IT!).
We stayed the last few days in Orlando at the JW Marriot Grande Lakes Resort which was about 10 minutes outside the parks (closest to Sea Worlkd). I'm actually fine with staying outside the parks as I honestly like being away from all things Disney after spending time in those parks. The resort was really nice and had a great Lazy River Pool. I also liked that you could use the pool at the Ritz Carlton (right next door), however the kids enjoyed the pool at our hotel much better.
Overall a nice time and I'm glad we went as I really needed a break and to change the scenery.
Can't believe Easter is here (Sunday!). We don't have any grand plans as we usually head out to Long Island to my dads place for an nice early dinner. I'm going to color/decorate eggs with Jackson later this week (Friday Night) and I have to figure out his Easter Basket which I'm debating what to fill it with as I don't like him to have too much candy. I'm sure anything Matchbox related will be a big hit :-)
I'm excited that next week is SPA WEEK here in NYC! Participating spas offer some great treatments/services for just $50. I really want to see if I can book a warm stone massage so I'll have to see where I can get an appointment.
I have a whole other post brewing related to Jackson (School, Therapists, my nanny etc) that I want to write, but it's going to be a long one as I have so much I want to document. Overall, he's doing good, making progress but as with anything we have challenges. We've been in the "I have a say/opinion about everything" stage. If someone has a blue straw and he has green, he wants blue. When we picked out tubes for the lazy river pool, my nephew picked green and Jackson picked yellow. While in the water, Jackson decides he doesn't want yellow anymore he wants green. If he doesn't get his way, it ends with a tantrum and you know how exhausting that can get. I have to continue to stand my ground beacuse he needs to learn/understand that you can't always get what you want...life just doesn't work that way. In any case, we're working through it, however it's not been easy.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the week.
