I've Done It!
WOOHOO! One candle made! XD
...of course, it's not one of my "final-and-for-sale" candles...not even really a prototype for those. I bought a clearance kit that lets you make really boring vanilla scented votive-types (I added mint because I had some peppermint and I've decided I'm not fond of solid scent blocks - oil's much nicer) and I've made the first of those. I might have done more, but I'm trying to feel out how much wax I need, I only had one pencil to wrap the wick around, etc. I'm debating whether to even finish the other three from the kit or use the wax for final-product prototypes. >.>
...I'll probably finish out the four and buy more wax since I need a bunch of stuff still before I can really get going - bottles and eyedroppers and some new paint brushes for the pots and such - but it's a start! I must say, I love this stuff so far. Haven't tested the "soap and water cleanup" part yet...that might be messier than advertised, but it melts beautifully and while I've not burnt it to test the scent (I didn't use as much as I probably should have anyway) it seems to take the scent really well. <3
Edit: Two candles done! Not quite as much wax in the second one, but at this rate I should have wax left over to get me started on the real deal! W00T!
