I never became a citizen of California. In any event, I no longer live there.
I got in to Denver at about 4:00PM yesterday, and it was such a feeling of relief to drive through the canyons in Utah and across the Rocky Mountains. There is a big difference between the LA and Colorado rivers.
There's still my writing to pursue, because I'm still convinced that it's good enough to sell, but fuck it for now. I am in the mountains, I am happy, and I have a food services job that I welcome as a distraction from... that.
Douche
Joey completely desecrated our apartment's kitchen while I was in Ohio. Every left-over that was in the fridge when I went back to Ohio at the beginning of the month was there when I returned at the end of the month. The disgusting potato soup, the buttered vegetables from the Cuban place on Burbank Blvd, and styrofoam bowl of beans that looked to be an offering from Debbie, our neighbor who is touched... all of it, sitting there, collecting bacteria and smells. There was a pile of dishes in the sink, waiting for me to return to clean them, I guess.
My muscles are loose and my joints are supple and I don't have to worry about that stress anymore thank god.
But more than anything, I'm just glad to be here. It's so much a better place to be than LA in case the bottom falls out haha.
