Le déluge
The end-of-year meme has that question, "What was the best thing you bought?" Now I can say, without a shade of doubt, that it was my wellington boots.
I went out to a restaurant around 2 to talk dinner over with the manager. I couldn't see any of this in the main square, but I decided to come back here on another route, and saw knee-deep water (I know it was because at first I tried to wade through it) in the narrow streets and things like that. My beautician and hairdresser's shop is in a basement. I went over to them and we were hauling the water out in buckets for a good half-hour before firefighters arrived with water pumps. I hope the people who are affected really badly have insurance :S
I'm going home. I hope our cellar is alright.
