01. Alright, I haven't studied all day and I feel pretty bad about that, but right now I'm supremely happy, because Suzanne Vega is coming to play in Budapest again!!! At the Gödör Klub, of all places, which is going to be significantly more awesome than the MűPa three years ago. I am dreaming of having her sign my Suzanne Vega LP. Aaah.
The day after NIN. The summer = one big festival, essentially. Kaiser Chiefs got cancelled, surprise.
02. I was at my cousins' having a nourishing dinner and chatting to Maris on Wednesday night, when, suddenly, Máté and his little friend burst into the kitchen. Máté bashed a plastic dinosaur down on the table in front of me, and the conversation unfolded thusly.
Máté: Hello Sophie! I haven't seen you in two million years!
Friend: You weren't even alive two million years ago! You're six going on seven! You could tell with carbon dating...
(...)
Máté: It's going to be the part when the dinos go extinct now!
Friend: KAPOW! *thrashes around with the dinos*
Sophie: The pressing question is, why did they go extinct?
Máté: Oh, we're just playing, it's not for real!
03. Stand-up comedy. Thought I'd post clips of five of my favourite performers.
//01. Dara Ó Briain. I AM A MULE CHILD OH JESUS!

//02. Ed Byrne. LOLOLOLOL every single word of this is so right and true. Irish people love saying, "It's just ridiculous," apparently.

//03. The best Iranian comedian. In fact, the only Iranian comedian.

//04. Oh Bill you are cruel. Heeheeheehee.

//05. Ol' Russ discusses staying up late as a child and then... slightly more edgy stuff.
This fucker can make me laugh even after repeated viewings.

04. Oh Muse I am so excited. And you know what, the title is boss. Out of curiosity, I typed "resistance" into flickr and found
these fascinating
collections. History can really captivate me. I'm glad I realised that in spite of the travesty that went on in high school.
My own interpretation. 05.
The computer lab house is right on the riverbank. It can be very pleasant on warm evenings.
This is where I get my lunch if I want actual food. The street is also supposedly the Soho of the city in that it is the gay centre (?) but that really isn't obvious. How telling.
I had to change trains in Celldömölk yesterday. I had been going Westwards and a storm was going the other way, and we crossed right there, just as the sun was setting.

06. Uni shit. UCL hasn't sent me anything, and if I don't find a chunky letter in the post box on Monday morning, I am phoning them and throwing a mighty tantrum. I NEED their cheap accomodation, and it is THEIR FAULT if I can't meet their bloody deadline with my reply to the thing that they haven't bothered to send, although they have obviously received my first set of documents by now. I DEMAND a place to be reserved for me in a student house.
The Wednesday exam makes me question the universe itself. You know how it was the entire Cold War but I only prepared half a day for it and it was really shite?? The fucking biography of John Foster Dulles and I accidentally even fucked up the starting date of the Eisenhower administration, not to mention the rest? I got a B on it, one point away from being an A! What in the buggery fuck? This... suggests that there is no point in working hard because I'll just get a B anyhow.
