Wow, an update! I don't really know what inspired me to make an update, especially because I haven't made one since Grandpa died this summer. I haven't even really read LJ this semester, but seeing how utterly crazy this semester was, I guess I don't blame me.
I'll try to recap this semester in a short list...
- Bonfire kicked ass. Neeley's crew was the biggest that I've heard of it being for several years, most of the freshman are staying in the dorm to recruit for next year, and WE GOT A PERIMETER POLE!!!!
- Being Rrukie Representative for WC wasn't nearly as fun as I had thought. I actually kinda regret having a WC office at the same time as being Bonfire Chair, but I survived. Choir itself is still fun, though there's a definite change in the social aspect of it and the CAO in general.
- I learned a really cool aria from the opera Barber of Seville. It really improved my range (it went from a low G to a high B natural) and it had a ton of awesome runs which improved my breath support. I still really like my voice lessons, it just makes me miss musical theatre, or I really wish that I could be in an opera, like Melissa.
- I switched my major. I'm now an Agricultural Communications and Journalism major. I love it!
- I may have pulled off a 4.0, which is a HUGE accomplishment with Bonfire and Choir stuff. I'm pretty pumped.
The biggest news is that Mom finished her doctorate!! She also got a job at Texas Tech for an 8 month teaching gig. Dad will be staying in Indiana since it's not a full professorship yet, so we're moving Mom into her apartment in Lubbock on January 3. It's gonna be weird to split my breaks now between Lubbock and home, but it'll work. It's gonna be a great opportunity for her!
Our Christmas is going to be a bit different this year because Jessie's work schedule is kinda funky, so our family Christmas will be on the New Year's Eve actually. It'll be good though, it'll spread out the holiday. =)
I'll be working this break while I'm still in Indiana, but I'm done at 6, so I'm totally up for hanging out on weekends and evenings. Please call me if you are bored!
