GREETINGS FROM THE MOON.
Whoa! I haven't updated in 11 days! Dang, sorry livejournal! Hope all of you guys have been well!
So! Let's see. After chilling at school for a final weekend last weekend, I moved out on Sunday the 17th and flew out to California on Monday the 18th. Most of the week was pretty uneventful.. slept a lot and worked on killing the last bits of my sick, played with Ame's mini!beagle puppy Bailey who is the most precious little beastie (with the sharpest little toofies) and oh god trying to remember what I did last week made me remember this incredible ramen concoction Ame cooked up that was like the most delicious thing ever mdnfnmsnsgsl we are going to make it a lot next year, I think. ♥
This past weekend, we drove up to Fanime! Which was more like fffffffffffffffanime, because a lot of it was goddamn retarded but quite a bit of it was quite good as well. Even though we swore we would never do what we did at Katsucon and spend half the con in the room finishing costumes, we.. spent half the con in the room finishing costumes. :| BUT it did end up being worth it to wear them 'cause we went to gatherings and got fun pictures and stuff like that. Fanime itself was a little FFFF and we had a lot of difficulty locating people for hangouts a lot of the time, but we did get to spend some time with some pretty amazing people, and made a lot of wonderful new friends, too. Also Ame got to see me drunk for the first time which was massively fun. Also, Bevmo (who?), Shaq, FOR MEEEE, yikes, I'M KEEDING, Vader Walk, I'M A LIGHTHOUSE, the 1219 of Raves, and probably other stupid shit I'm forgetting.
I missed several people I wanted to see and didn't get to spend enough time with MOST of the people I wanted to see, but at least I got to give lots of hugs. I love you guyyyys. ♥ But really though, NOT doing the costumes-at-con shit anymore after this one, augh. It'll be easier once Ame and I live together and can maaaaybe motivate each other to start work on costumes sooner, fffft.
This (Monday) morning, Ame and I woke up at 8 and though getting there was a bit of a clusterfuck, she managed to get me to the airport in San Francisco in time for.. a flight to Japan. I. ksjlfjirbjkrjglr. I didn't really mention it much this weekend because it hadn't processed at all. In fact, it didn't process until just near the end of our 10.5 hour plane flight when
palais and I spotted land and began
Kermit Flailing. On the train from the airport to Fukushima, we spent about an hour making stupid faces and whispering "WE'RE IN JAPAAAAAN" every time it would hit is. I still don't think it has entirely processed.
I'm getting pretty dizzy as I write this which is definitely an indication that I reeeeally need to go to bed. If I were more mathmatically inclined I would calculate how many hours I've been awake because I feel like it's been a lot. So for the time being, have some observations that probably would have been tweets if my phone worked here:
♥ flying closely over Japan made us really want to play Katamari and roll up everything. It was so bizarre.
♥ Kansai is gorgeous and I'm so glad we came here instead of Tokyo on our first Japanese venture.
♥ Fukushima is the cutest little town and I'm going to put everyone in my pocket.
♥ we can't stop squealing at school children. The novelty will never die.
♥ jesus fucking fuck 7-11 is so cool here. There's one just around the corner, we'll be trying something different there for lunch like.. every day.
♥
pkmncollectors nerds: Pokemon Kids at 7-11 for ¥105. ;; A;;~~
♥ also found EVAWAFERS which are nummy little wafers that each come with a plastic card from the new Eva movie (which won't be coming out while we're here I'M SO MAD.) I got Misato on my first try. ♥
♥ Japanese mayonnaise IS really freaking good.
♥ I'm really glad Angela has a better grasp of 日本語 than I do because it is really intimidating and I haven't managed to say much of legitimacy. I'll get better about it. 9__6
♥ there are a bunch of Canadian bros also staying in the hostel as well as lots of other people I wouldn't mind being friends with.
♥ wandering by yourself in a foreign town is an incredibly beautiful and surreal experience.
♥ this futon is really comfortable but it is ridiculous how much I wish I had a certain red- and orange-haired girl to share it with. I miss Ame terribly and I'm trying not to dwell on it but I can't shake how bad I wish she was sharing this with me. Next time, dammit.
I'm sure there's more but yeahhhh sleep needs to happen. Though I'm eyeing the umeboshi onigiri from 7-11 I didn't have room for earlier.. hrmn..
Anyway. I am so retardedly lucky to be here and fortunately we have lots of time and not a ton of obligations, so hopefully I'll be able to make regular updates about adventures, if you guys are interested in reading them! Well, I probably would anyway even if y'all WEREN'T interested because I want to remember, but you know. ANYWAY crashing now. I love you guys, even from The Moon. ♥
