o fuck last-minute Katsucon emergency.
Anyone have a (small preferably, but whatever) navy blue miniskirt/pleated skirt/whatever skirt we could borrow? I love having so many cosplayers on my flist, ahaha. Got it!
ryoko is the bestest!
Also of importance! I know some of you have already left but whatever. Valentine's Day Dinner people!! Ted's Montana Grill or whateverthefuckIsaiditwas doesn't take reservations, so we're just going to have to hope for the best. We're going to go after the masquerade, meeting by the front door of the Hyatt at ~9:15. I'm going to call them a few hours earlier and just warn that there's going to be a big group, but because us being seated is a bit uncertain.. I don't know, everybody's still welcome to come but just know that not everybody may be seated together if we have too many. As it is we have 7 couples planning to go and a smattering of soloists, soooo it should be interesting! My number is 201-956-0726 should anybody need it for this or any other reason!
Aaaand my poor left hand is like, destroyed. One slice on my index finger from an Xacto, two chunks out of my index and middle finger from scissors when I was cutting open a Sharpie, a small burn on the back of my thumb from the iron and a chunk out of my thumb from Liz's fingernail last week that I didn't take care of so it's still healing. WOO YEAH. I actually legit bled on a costume earlier, ahaha. I can now honestly say blood, sweat and tears went into this year's Katsucon.
I still have a lot left to do and I imagine I'll be spending most of the night awake, but I'm okay with it. I'll have time to work on stuff tomorrow night, I'm just trying to get done everything I can now. Monster energy drink, don't fail me now.
Also I've been meaning to post this for a couple of days but haven't had a chance, so I'm posting it real quick now 'cause the deadline for the petition is Valentine's Day and I dunno when I'll be able to update again.

"Fidelity": Don't Divorce... from

Vimeo.
Courage Campaign's "Fidelity" - please sign!! Legal briefs were filed to the California Supreme Court looking to nullify the 18,000 gay marriages since June of last year. The Courage Campaign made this video to remind Prop 8 supporters we're fighting back. "Fidelity" has been a pretty important song to me for a couple of years now and has only recently stopped making me cry, but this video made tears erupt all over again. But not out of sadness.
I emailed the video to my mother who was in Kansas City with Grandma at the time. She replied, and after talking about my grandma's health, she had this to say regarding it:
Just watched the video and cried and sobbed - a combination of relief that Mom's lucked out and the complete "heartbreakedness" of the ridiculous notion that way too many people have that ONLY a man and woman can share a lifetime of love and devotion. As the video concluded, and as I firmly believe, love will prevail. I'm so glad you shared it with me. I loves my Bunny SOOOOOOOOO much!
Of course, I cried and sobbed reading her response. Oh my god I am so lucky to have her. Best Mom. ♥
Okay, that's all the break I get. Off to finish sewing Nia accessories, get started on Simon goggles and PACK. I think that's all I can handle tonight, other shit's going to have to wait until tomorrow night. SEE YOU GUYS LATERRRRR. ♥
