New Year, Same Stuff

Well, I'm finally back in classes here at the good old University, and I have to say that things haven't changed at all. The campus looks officially like a construction site now, rather than just places here and there. University Centre is all torn up, with hardly any stable flooring on the first level at all. Honestly, there's plywood everywhere that vibrates as if you were trying to walk on a trampoline as you walk across it. Plus, some bus stops are still stuck right next to the on-campus residences, so commuters still have to slog through the dorm areas to try and get to their classes.

Ugh. Plus, now The Powers That Be (Winnipeg-style) have started construction of a new stadium right on campus. Who even asked us, the students who are definitely going to be affected by this, for our opinions? Traffic and parking in that area isn't great as it is, but now they are going to add all of the traffic from sporting events? Not good.

Yep, as far as I can tell, it's business as usual here at the University. A handful of people make random decisions that will affect numerous people with no outside input.
