Busy times

Work has been crazy for me lately. I applied for a position in my company that I wasn't necessarily qualified for but that I knew I could do. The interview for it was going to be a panel of three big-wigs and it was to be one of those behavioural interviews where you have to relate stories about different situations and somehow make them relate to the work you'd be doing in your new position. So I have been stressing over trying to get ready for that interview when...they offer me it without an interview! The only catch was, they were making a night shift and i'd have to go on it. Night shift is from 4-12 and i currently work from 7:30-3:30 pm so it's a complete flip flop for me. I took the job though and now have great goals of spending my days in the gym (yeah right).

I've been trying to be better at keeping in touch with all my friends. All of my good friends are scattered all over the world. One in Australia, one in South America, a handful in England and Scotland. I really need to work at having more local friends! I'm also bummed because so many of them are travelling the world, having great adventures, and here I am working 9-5 (or..4-12). I used to be the girl travelling and having adventures! Oh well...there is something to be said for having money and career goals too.

Speaking of travelling, please check out this link: http://vienneau.livejournal.com/

I've been following this for a while and just can't imagine how helpless the family must feel, despite working around the clock to find their sister/daughter/girlfriend/friend. If you happen to have any resources or ideas that would be useful to this family, you can contact them through this livejournal link.
