Day 12 - Fuji-san and Koyama

Feb 02, 2009 14:50

To sum it up, today went fairly well, until about 9:30 AM, when I entered the post office _._

I know there is one shipping method apart from EMS, that offers insurance, but the ladies in the post office begged to differ.
Well, here are your lucky numbers.
aiharu: EI795721680JP (that is only the panfu, I forgot the Kitty strap at home and decided to send it together with photos from home, if you still want any photos)
digitalian024: EI795721716JP (will calculate later on)

So, I shipped the stuff with EMS and then off to Tokyo station, from where I planned to take the Kodama Shinkansen to Odawara. Read: PLANNED.
Because the nice lady at the counter said "Yes, there are Shinkansen going there, but with your JR East Pass you can only use Shinkansen that are operated by JR East. And the Kodama to Odawara is operated by another company. So feel free to either buy a ticket at the normal price or take the local line there..."

Took the local line and was in Odawara at 12 PM - I had planned to be there about 11 AM... To add up on my luck, the sunny weather from Tokyo changed into cloudy something. And the higher I got up in the hills, the worse it got. We even had a very little bit of snow _._
Guess what? I did not get to see Fuji-san -.-;;;;

On my way back from not seeing the mountain, I had to hurry a bit, because the play started at 7 PM. I was at Takadanobaba at 6 PM, from there it should have been a 5 minute walk. After NOT finding the theatre within 30 minutes, I finally noticed my mistake.
The theatre was between Shin-Okubo and Takadanobaba and NOT between Takadanobaba and Mejiro (where I looked for it), so I simply got off one station too late and well... was at the theatre about 10 minutes before the play started and five minutes later at my seat ^^;;;

Koyama did a really good job, if we ignore that I almost laughed out load about his host clothes - and the shoes. THE SHOES!!!
The changed the setting from the USA to Shinjuku, all characters got Japanese names and well... don't know what else was different,  because I never saw the movie.
There were lots and lots of lines for Koyama to learn, and he got all the emotions right. There were moments when I thought he was close to crying.
As I had not checked the cast list, imagine my surprise when suddenly Kusakari Masao was on stage too, in an important role ^^;;;
