Going to watch Science Friday was really fun. A few observations:
1) I ended up sitting next to a real fan of the show who works at the Lab of Ornithology. I am also a fan, and I work at the vet school. The two subjects were bird and vet medicine, so a bit of an interesting coincidence.
2) Ira Flatow had both a mac and a pc in front of him.
3) It would be very odd to be one of the technical staff, to be doing one's job in front of 1000 people.
4) The host of a call in show needs to be really skilled in politely cutting people off, and in managing crowds.
5) Sitting in an auditorium, listening to the news on the radio, kind of like when radios were first around, was in interesting experience. The crowd clapped about Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize, laughed at what the conservatives were saying about it. It was a very interactive radio news show.
