My new obsession
A couple blogs that I regularly read periodically have links to things for sale on Etsy.com. I recently signed up and started browsing around. It didn't take long, being a shopaholic and all, before I was buying things. I appreciate that I am supporting individual artists and not big companies, and I like how diverse the website is.
You techies out there also might appreciate some of the cool features that the website has like searching by color, shopping by items just sold, and shopping by items just listed. I've never seen features like that before, and they're kind of fun.
I love the "favorites" feature also - whenever I shop in person, I always carry things around the store for a while before I decide to buy them, and this is just the virtual version of that. The website works like eBay in that you can pay through PayPal, and there's also a feature called "alchemy" where you can request an item and sellers can bid on creating it for you. Since most of these people are making the items they have for sale, many of them are quite open to customizing things to your size, color preferences, etc.
