Nordic Fuzzcon 2018 Report
Wednesday, February 28 (NFC Day 1)
Sadly, due to Henrieke not being able to get days off, today was a workday. Since we brought Baseball and Dog, we had 2 big suitcases, which we brought to the office.
Shortly before 7, we went to Schiphol, ate some fries and looked at diapers at Etos (for which Henrieke designed new packages earlier today). After security we sat down at a cozy area to wait for our flight, which was sadly delayed due to a power outage. The delay just increased more and more, until our flight was the very last one, going at Midnight. The upside is that we saw a cute mouse family that lived in the VIP lounge!
Unfortunate delay.
Finally, at almost 2am we managed to get our luggage and meet the Taxi driver I called before we departed. Sadly nobody was still up when we arrived at the Scandic hotel, so we pretty much flopped on our beds at 3am.
Thursday, March 1st (NFC Day 2)
We got up at 10 so we wouldn't miss the breakfast buffet and sat together with Shannon, Booboo, Jill, Eko, Mag and Yotie. Henrieke went up to get a shower, I went to the supermarket with Mag, Yotie and Procy to get some supplies to have a cheese party, since I brought 10 kinds of (mostly Dutch) cheese. We also sneakily bought a birthday cake for Yotie!
I dumped the stuff on my room and hung out on Yotie's room a bit with Mag and Eko, also I fell asleep since I was a bit tired from the previous day. I met up with Henrieke at the GoH Panel by Kazul on costume building, which was super interesting! After that, I quickly looked through the Dealers Den. It was nice to meet Gatorguts and Kosse there!
After that I went to the room and got the cheese party supplies ready, and prepared everything in a little corner on the 9th floor.
Henrieke, Yotie, Procy, Yamavu, Mag, Ekorren and Dezzlberries joined and we spent a while tasting different cheeses. Deezlberries also delivered some of the blue cheese to Flacko, who was very delighted about the surprise.
After the cheese, we shared the super tasty cake to celebrate Yotie's birthday. The Americans later came by and had the rest of the cheese that we kept for them, and we stayed and played the "A fake artist goes to new york" game that Yotie brought.

I went down to the artist lounge to meet Ethan, who I drew a badge for. We chatted a bit, and it was nice to hear his stories about Japan and that he successfully landed a nice job in Stockholm now! I went back up to the others then, we watched TMBG's last wave video, then we went to shorty to get some tokens for the taco buffet. Since we had to wait 20 minutes, I used that time to steam and take a painkiller since allergy didn't like me that day. At the buffet there were no tacos to be found, only burritos, and they weren't too great, but they were okay. Emejn joined us for a bit as well. After that, I tracked down Wolftale in conops and delivered the badge I made. I also chatted some more with Ethan and Capeh. I went to the store again with Henrieke, Mag and Yotie and got some Red Bull. Henrieke was happy to get Bilar (little sugary foam cars). The rest of the evening we spent in the artist lounge, scribbling things as well as playing more of the fake artist game.

I also made a collab with Caffrey. Later, 2 Yoties and a plane dropped by as well as a bunch of drunk Americans. We went to bed at 2:30
Friday, March 2nd (NFC Day 3)
Had breakfast with Henrieke, then I helped a bit with Snack Exchange setup. After that I went to the bouncy castle extravaganza with Mag and bounced a bit. For context, NFC put 10 bouncy castles and a 35m obstacle course in a hall and for 100 SEK you could bounce all day! Pretty much the coolest thing a con has ever done.
I went up to the room to get Baseball for the parade, sadly my room key stopped working. By the time I managed to go down from the 17th floor, get the key replaced, go up again, get Baseball and go down again the parade was over sadly.
It was open day however, meaning that outside people were invited to check out the con, including the Dealers Den and the bouncy castles. So Baseball had some fun with the kids that were around!

Baseball had some more fun in the lobby and the "Zoo", and went up to the room again with Henrieke. I went back to the bouncy castles and competed in the bouncy castle run there, I made second place with 17 seconds, compared to 16 for the first. I also spent some time with Trax, TomKitty and Shorty there. After that, I went to the Dealers Den and chatted a bit with Shannon and Mysti about materials. After that, Henrieke, Mag and me played some Mario Kart on the 9th floor with the little beamer I brought.
For dinner we went to Max with Caffrey, Procy, Mag, Yamavu, Yotie and Eko. I went to the room after that, then back to the bouncy castles with Henrieke and Mag.

Henrieke went to Kazul's other panel and I went up for a well-needed shower, then I joined the panel and saw the last few minutes. We played some more Mario Kart, then we hung out in the artist lounge. Next door was the inflatable panel, but sadly no Sea Dragon was to be found.

Saturday, March 3rd (NFC Day 4)
The dry air from the hotel AC really killed us this con, I woke up with a throbbing headache, so I took some painkillers and we went down to have breakfast with Yamavu. After that, we finally checked out the art show. We sat a bit in the artist lounge, where I made a badge for Capeh. Mag and Yotie joined, and we went to Subway with Mag, Yotie and Yamavu for lunch. We also stocked up on candy at the candy shop.

I went to the Dealers Den to chat with people, then had some fun at the absolutely amazing arcade. Just like last year, the arcade room was packed with everything from a C64 to VR games. We played some good old Mario Kart and the Taiko drum game.

Henrieke went to the ice cream buffet while I played some Wipeout on the PSX with Yotie. I met with Henrieke and Eko later and we bought a bunch of lottery tickets, then we hung out in the lobby for a bit.
We made the mistake of ordering pizza again, which is very complicated in general, and even more so in swedish. Thanks to Ekorren, we managed to acquire pizza and ate it on our room. I went back to the lobby and met TomKitty in the arcade, who was nice enough to show me the massive penthouse suite, which was 3 stories high and was big enough to house a small con. I went back to the room to get Baseball, Henrieke joined me as Dog. They had some fun in the lobby and played some Taiko drums in the arcade. They also ran into Shannon, Booboo, Louve and Jill there. After some more roaming around in the lobby, Dog went back to the room and Baseball stayed a bit to enjoy the awesome dance by Silverfoxwolf.

They also played Blue by Eiffel 65, loved it! After suiting, O met the others on the 9th floor and we played the guessing game and the fakr artist game until 2am.
Sunday, March 4th (NFC Day 5)
Ow, more AC/allergy headache! Had breakfast at 10:30 with Procy, Ekorren and Mag. Surprisingly, the quality of the fried bacon stayed pretty constant the whole con! After that we went to the lottery draw, sadly no luck. We did win some small prizes though, including an Indri figurine that Henrieke wanted to get for Eden. We sat on the balcony in the lobby for a bit after that and said bye to Procy, who sadly had to leave already. For lunch we went to Max once again with Yamy, Eko and Mag. Apart from a piece of plastic in my burger, it was fine. On the way back we picked up salads for dinner later. Back in the lobby, I chatted a bit with Tifou about french comics, then played some Mario Kart with Henrieke, Eko and Mag.
I went back to the lobby for a bit and chatted a bit with Layown, Kaelin and Fangzahn, then went up again to pack our switch stuff and prepared things so Baseball could raise some money for charity. Wolftale helped by setting up a table, Henrieke helped carry stuff and Baseball came down to offer some badly drawn sketches for 100 SEK each!

Thanks to everyone who got a sketch! After drawing, Baseball roamed around in the lobby a bit and then went up to the room. On our room, we ate the salads we brought and I quickly went down to get Baseball's drawing supplies and a fork for Henrieke. Henrieke, Mag, Yotie and Eko went to watch Goofy movie, I chose to go to the lobby a bit and chat with Ethan and Trax. I joined for half of Goofy movie, then went back to the lobby while Henrieke did some tax stuff. Baseball went down to the lobby one last time this con and gave Shorty some well-deserved hugs for his hard work at this con. Baseball had some more fun at the dance, but went back to the room soon. I joined Henrieke, Louve, Shannon and Mag at the dance and we admired the visuals. I also made some fabulous glowstick art.

Sadly time passed too quickly, and since there wasn't much time in the morning, we had to pack before going to bed, until 3am.
Monday, March 5th (Late departure day)
We got up at 8:30, packed our last things and had breakfast with Louve and Shannon, chatting about Goofy Movie. We got out luggage, which took a while, since 2 out of 4 elevators were broken.

In the lobby we had to say a sad bye to everyone, especially the Americans which we don't get to see very often!
At the airport, we ran into Yotie and were still able to hang out for a bit before boarding our flight to Amsterdam. No delays this time.
