OLD COMFORTABLE
*
"Hey, Joey? Where's the..."
"It's in the cabinet already."
Billy opened the cabinet, and blinked at the jar of honey they'd gotten from the farmer's market. Jeez, always putting shit away right when they got home. Ah, well. That was just Joey. "Thanks," he called back over his shoulder, then remembered to add, "You want anything?"
"Nah," Joey said, just as the kettle shrieked.
Billy snagged it off the stovetop and filled a mug three-quarters with hot water. What kind of tea...ah, fuck it, too early for anything fancy, he'd just drop a bag of the good English Breakfast in. He grabbed the last two slices of toast as they popped up, set them on the plate with the others, then headed for the living room.
Joey looked up from where he was doing something on the computer. "Hey, thanks."
"Welcome," Billy said, and kissed him.
Joey mmphed against his mouth, and when Billy stepped back, said, "Toast?"
"It's fine," Billy said, and set it down on the desk just to make sure, along with the honey and the butter and Joey's tea. Then he kissed Joey again, just because.
When he was finished, Joey smiled up at him and said, "I didn't know you liked honey that much."
"You're a prick," Billy told him cheerfully, and grabbed his own chair to get at the computer.
