oh, hooRAY! what a great ending! i love the thought of them dancing to the hooters, but whatever played after dave woke up, i'm sure it was just right. :D

Thanks again for the suggestion (and for putting that song in my head!) and I'm glad you liked the ending. I'm always worried that just-a-dream scenarios are going to tick ppl off...

well, if he had gone home all sad, i'd have felt sad too. but this way, it was like a downer and then a really sweet upper. :)

I wouldn't have done that. I was either going to write it with it not being a dream, or with Kurt turning the tables in the end. :)

I'm not like some fan writers who just want to torture Dave, everybody treating him like shit and him taking it because he thinks he deserves it, him killing himself because he deserves it, yadda, yadda. Crap, the story is depressing enough without us treating him even worse, you know?

you know, that's what pleases me about the progression -- even though they didn't show it to us -- from the prom to Scandals: his sweetness is showing now. remember the confrontation scene in figgins' office, where paul karofsky is saying how good a boy he had been, and dave gives this sweet smile kind of sideways to his dad? i could really see the good boy in that smile and can believe now that the goodness is still in there.

so no, i don't want him punished any more. kurt's forgiven him, anyway!
