The story in my head as I was drawing this: New Directions made it to Nationals again, and this time they won and are celebrating back in the hotel room, all of them exhausted, but so happy; Kurt’s changed into ‘something more comfortable’ - Dave’s football jersey. Will and Emma are chaperoning. (Dave may be a bona fide, singing member of ND or he may have volunteered to go as their heavy equipment-moving guy or something, but either way, it was at Will’s urging that he joined.) Will is watching the kids kind of sadly, knowing that he’s about to lose his seniors - the kids from his very first group as Glee sponsor. Emma, trying to cheer Will up, starts looking around the room and pointing out how far they’ve all come and how they’ve matured in the time Will’s known them. Dave Karofsky is the most dramatic example of a life turned completely around and this pic is what Will and Emma are seeing as they talk.

To the tumblr folks who may have already seen this - sorry for spamming. I'm mostly over at tumblr these days, but I do still check in at LJ sometimes, so I thought I'd post this here. Also, if anyone gets a wild urge to write up the little background story properly, I would be beside myself with joy. :)
