If to speak about Dave in season 3, I didn't hear anything about it and actually it makes me nervous.:(

Figgins (the actor, I just can't spell his name) updated his twitter saying there were "no scenes with that huggable hunk). I don't know if it was just for that day or episode one in general. Sad day.

I watch The Glee Project, (and I'm sure you all can guess my favorite episode), and I can't wait to see the finale! =D

As for Dave, I have faith that the writers are going to do something, and want to surprise us. That's just my theory though.

My theories:

1) Max was on Glee Project... ADVERTISEMENT! They were showing off his acting skills. Why the hell would they put him on that show if he wasn't in S3?

2) He's probably not in ep 1 because he isn't quite that big so far. YES, I think his story line is important. YES, his story line is a big deal. BUT they'll probably give it plenty of coverage later on in the season.

3) Not a theory, but... When did we know anything that would happen more than a week before an ep aired? I don't want to let myself believe ANYTHING that is said before the week before S3E1.

So yeah! Those are my thoughts.
