G1 update day 3: Save the best day for last Part 2
Sorry guys, I just noticed my earlier post cut off all the text after the picture so he's the rest of my last day at G1.
When I finished the photos I was chatting with some of my new friends when the put up the results of the raffle to win a private (10 people) meet and greet with the actors. I saw my friend Adelle (Kandabunny) head over the table first and start jumping up and down when she realized she had won. I went over to tell her congrats and glanced down at the sheet to see my own ticket number on the first one. Of course I shouted out that I'd won too! Then I glanced at the 2nd meet and greet sheet and saw my number was on that one as well. I had won both meet and greet sessions! I don't know what I did to be so lucky. I seriously started shaking and my heart was racing as I realized I was going to get more one and one time with the cast. I called my husband to tell him the great news and tweeted the glee guys to say I had won. I spoke to the event staff and they explained the process to me and told me I was allowed to give away my sessions if I wanted but they forgot to tell me only one guest would be attending each of the sessions. The night before a kind woman and her daughter I had become friends with had shared and paid for my taxi ride back to the hotel. I always like to reward nice people so I decided to give my extra session to her young daughter (so they could both attend). I later found out only one guest each would attend the sessions so we arranged for me to go to Max's and that she would go to Kevin's (even through I missed Kevin's session the little girl's excitement was totally worth it and I would have missed part of Max's Q & A panel anyway so I wasn't really bothered).
The first panel of the day was Iqbal's and I have to say he rocked it. There was only three of us that got up to ask him questions so he asked Max who was watching the panel from the sidelines to ask him a question. Max asked when his favorite line had been, Iqbal repeated his answer from yesterday which was 'Not the children!' Max said but he liked 'Key $ Ha.' From that point onwards Iqbal's panel became chaos, he started running the room asking random people questions, singing and asking other people to sing. He also made a point of telling Max that all the girls were clealy here for him and he had seen how tightly they had hugged him. Iqbal also did the Key $ ha introduction for us twice. When I finally got to ask my question I played tic toc on my phone and asked if he would show us some of his dance moves from the night before and he danced on stage for us.
After that panel I had my private meet and greet with Max. I ended up being one of the last people in the room so I couldn't sit next to him but ended up across from him. When Max got to the room everyone went shy so I ended up talking to him directly across the table when no one else would. First I thanked him again for wearing the pirate badge. One of my twitter followers had suggested asking him about his guitar skills since it was listed on his SAG card but he revealed it was all lies. He had taken a couple lessons but it wasn't his passion but he could fake it if he ever had to play on the show. He talked about how hard it was to get slushie off your clothes & skin. He of course talked to us about not wanting to sing at the con because he was a little scared and he wanted the first time he sang for Glee to be Dave singing not Max Adler. He told us he loved Les Mes and was excited to see the painting 'Liberty leading the people' while in France. He also was going to see War Horse soon in London.
After that we had Max's panel, he got asked loads of things and his question line never died down. I told him that most of us thought of the superbowl ep as Dave's episode and asked what his reaction was when he saw the script and if he was disappointed Dave didn't join the glee club in the end? Max said he was honored the writers gave him so much to do in that ep when it was such an important ep for the series. He was disappointed Dave didn't join glee but he felt it fit Karofsky's story line and was true to real life how difficult that situation would be. He also mentioned the gift bag letters and pirate captain badge I had given him.
Max was asked who inspires him and he said his dad who really had their family together when his mom died and George Clooney for his work for different origanisation and the way he uses his status as an actor to support them.
He talked a long time about his support of gay right groups and how he believes someday soon people will realize how silly it is to treat people different for their sexual orientation.
Max said he loved the Warblers and wished he could sing with them or Lea. Someone had a Dalton jacket that he tried on but it was too small.
Max said he became an actor because his mother encouraged him to follow his dream just before she died. He went from restaurant to restaurant job before getting the role of Karofsky on glee.
Someone asked if he reads fanfiction, he said he had looked at some but learned his lesson. He blurted out the fan art he had seen was very accurate, this comment was of course met with a bunch of giggles so he corrected himself and said his face had been very accurate in them. ;-)
Max stayed for Kevin's panel as well and Kevin teased him about how mean he was to slushie him in the superbowl ep.
At the closing ceremony, I went up to Max again and thanked him for coming, being so supportive of his fans and retweeting me. He pulled me into a hug, told me thank you for being a great fan and for all my effort with the pirate stuff. He promised me that we'd keep in touch and I know it's silly but I had to really stop myself from tearing up. I went off to get a hug from Kevin and a hug and kiss from Iqbal. Iqbal started taking pictures with fans so Adelle and I decided to ask one last time to see if we could get a picture with Max together but his minder said no. Max saw that we were disappointed and gave me another hug to make up for it.:-)
I'm really sad to see the con end but hopefully there will be another one next year as all the cast members said they were eager to come back again. It was my best con experience and I have already promised to come back next year as me and another Max fan, piratefreddie, have dubbed ourselves Max's official G1 fangirl and fanboy and we will have to be there to support him.
