dawncrow: Santana finds out that he's gay, and blackmails him into doing this? She wants Kurt to come back, yeah, but mostly she just wants a safer environment so that she can come out and maybe then she can win Brittany back. So in order to not lose control of his secret, Dave has to do what Santana says.

THIS makes much more sense. I don't know about other people, but I actually LIKE to have some continuity (bad word! bad word!) on Glee and Dave suddenly doing a 180 and wanting all the bullying to stop at McKinley just doesn't ring true. Even if, God forbid, he were to somehow be outed (which I do not believe will happen) I still do not see Dave happily patrolling the hallways of McKinley (sorry, merienhiver, just a clear agree to disagree difference in how I perceive Dave's character) to stop all bad things happening in his presence.

Santana somehow glomming onto Dave's secret and then blackmailing him into doing something like this; that is some sort of Glee plot that I recognize. Dave actually seeing the light and realizing that bullying is wrong? I, personally, wouldn't buy it, but I'd go 50-50 on the possibility that that could happen. Dave coming to terms with his sexuality such that he comes out this year? Not gonna happen. (IMHO.)

Especially if people want a more realistic, true portrayal of how a jock, wanting to be perceived in a certain light, is able to both recognize this side of himself AND then show that side of himself to others. Glee has a chance to do this with a talented actor, and I think it would be a lost opportunity to squander this in some sort of smarmy, one episode "OMG! It's true! I'm gay, it's here to stay, and people better accept me this way!!" bogus crap fashion. (Again, just my opinion.)

Even for Kurt. And since I (and I believe Dave) think he's the next best thing to sliced bread, that's saying a whole hell of a lot...

I think that's it...

To be honest, at this point? I've so given up on any continuity in the Glee world that I'll take everything. I don't care if Dave gets blackmailed into patrolling or if he's doing a 180, I just want him back. And if he feeds my fangirlish fantasies by doing so, all the better. :D
I'm honestly not expecting the next episodes to make any more sense than the last five, and that includes Dave's character development. So bring it on, RIB, while I'll find my peace in fanfiction. ;)

Yes, I was thrilled to come back from the hiatus and learn that all the flagrant, blatant flirting and UST between Blaine and Kurt was apparently all in Kurt's head (and mine); Blaine was an oblivious doofus whose ideas about love have much less foundation than Kurt's; Blaine might be bisexual (something that apparently never came up in his life previous to this point in time BUT, thankfully, a kiss by one girl solved the entire issue for him for the rest of his natural life); Blaine agrees that Kurt has all the sex appeal of a baby penguin and, apparently, based on a discussion where Kurt, amazingly enough, doesn't want to talk about sex with him (a guy with whom he has a crush), feels that it's appropriate to go to Kurt's father and tell Burt that Kurt is imminently going to go to a party, drink too much, and end up fooling around with a stranger (b'c, in all the time that he has known him, Kurt has never touched a drop of alcohol, and just indicated that he thought the height of sexuality consisted of the touch of two people's fingertips); and finally, in the space of one month, Blaine will indicate interest in a THIRD person (this time, luckily for Kurt, Kurt himself) and act on it, just as he did the previous two times.

OTOH, the Klaine kiss melted my TV set.

So, yes, Glee writers are not known for their continuity (except when it comes to the only character that counts on the show, because he's my favorite and I say so... Kurt, if you're wondering who I mean, but who else could I mean?! He's such a sweetie... No, no bias to be found HERE...)

Speaking of fanfiction, here are some recommendations (I'm assuming Kurtofsky, or something along those lines):

Sing It Out by hoboshorts (http://community.livejournal.com/karofsky_hummel/11070.html)

Who Needs Therapy When You Have Beer by tipsy_armadillo (http://community.livejournal.com/gleeslash/1019690.html) [there are 2 chapters leading up to the one I gave you but they're not linked like that one is...]

Who Needs Therapy When You Have Two Naked Boyfriends? (Sequel to previous story) by nonexistantpup (different author, I know...) (http://community.livejournal.com/gleeslash/1020419.html)

as show tunes have it by lenina20 (http://community.livejournal.com/roseof_sharon/67505.html)

Of French Projects and Fooling Around by saratu (http://community.livejournal.com/towriteagain/12142.html)

Pressure Points by marvinetta (http://community.livejournal.com/karofsky_hummel/223967.html)

Perfect series by ibshafer [I'm giving you the address to ibshafer's Glee fic archive, where you can find the links to all the stories] (http://ibshafer.livejournal.com/37107.html)

Then there are a bunch of WIP but I'll give you a chance to read these (assuming there are any you haven't yet read...)

P.S. Clearly, I don't know how to link, or I would have just done that (in case you're wondering... And I see by my Preview that the addresses BECOME links but I still don't know how to make the addresses disappear and just have the names of the stories show up (still and all, that's much more helpful than I realized...)

*smiley face*
